No doubt at 5.45pm some of these horses will be still running since Happy has now put the kiss of death on them

Switch 2 Jukebox Jury for 10 Mourayan

Good move, Happy. I reckon Jukebox Jury will be in the finish somewhere - it's a very, very strong stayer. Now I've said that, it will probably run last

Sore toe apparently. Harden up son!

Do horses have toes?

I didn't think so but the ABC says they do! Always just looked like one big hoof to me…

The Lloyd Williams-owned Mourayan has been scratched from the Melbourne Cup with soreness in a toe due to corrective shoeing.

Well I'll be buggered! Who knew that? LOL.

Just back from the TAB and, after sorting out my bets, I thought I would throw a dollar or two on a mystery bet. I ended up with Older Than Time - how apt! I think someone is trying to tell me something

For those of you not in banking, Mac Bank do a quant analysis each year that has proven pretty successful (if you box their top 6 for the trifecca). Basically, if you invested $1000 at the start of 2007, you would have $9,000 using the analysis. This year it is.

1\. Dunaden
2\. Niwot
3\. American
4\. Juxebox Jury
5\. Illo
6\. Glass Harmonium

More bad news for Mac Bank investors!

Well that had to be my worst cup result in a long time - not one brass razoo out of 7 bets! :frowning: Didn't like any of the placegetters at all and especially didn't want Dunaden to win for the sake of his original jockey, who was suspended only last week. And I reckon it should've been called a deadheat - that margin was ridiculous! Oh well there's always next year :unamused:

haha, they picked the winner, but their trifecta was in tatters! Red Cadeaux was 3rd last in their analysis. Not even close.

As you can imagine I am currently in tears.

Bad luck macD but I gave you your missing placegetter in my OP

I too got 2 in my trifecta, however my other 2 ran 10th & 11th.

Lucas Cranach e/w got me money back plus snagged 2nd in works sweep so ended up about 20 in front

This is the saddest betting slip seen on this forum since the poor sod who lost a massive 1st tryscorer bet when Rangi Chase got the ball handed to him over the tryline.

I can handle overseas horses winning the Cup But sorry I got to draw a line in the sand when the French win and I have to hear the poncing around

The French = Manly imo

OMG! You poor bugger! A horse's nostril hair between winning and losing, happy and sad. You have my sympathy MacDougall, but if it makes you feel any better, imagine how suspended jockey Craig Williams is feeling right now.
