Been looking forward to this from about 20 mins into last nights game

Go Socceroos

x 2 Ink Lets just hope it has a happy ending

Bet we don't get any stories of players playing up win ,lose or draw

Scoreline 3-1 Socceroos 😛ray:

We really should be getting a comprehensive win tonight. Iraq only have pride to play for and the Aussies are playing some good football at the moment.

Geez this diving is tiresome.

Glad we dont do it.

Whats the aim of the iraqui going off on a stretcher>??
Do they gain some benefit….seems theres various forms of diving, degrees of difficulty?

At least the ref isnt totally gullible...ignoring some of it

If we beat Jordan and Iraq we qualify no matter what happens in Japan. I think Japan will beat us (or we may jag a draw) and I am confident of beating the two middle eastern teams here (although we should have beaten Oman). If we finish third in the group though I don't think we will qualify, we might beat Iran in the first tie but the fifth placed South American team would thrash us (Chile/Venezuela/Uruguay/Peru). If we have to play Uruguay it would be a real eye opener to show the change in class between the two sides since 2005 when we beat them, these days I'd back them to destroy us and I am stunned at how much trouble they are having with qualification.

Too many players picked on reputation , not on form MM in my opinion

Kennedy being back will help Not having to rely on either Holman or Cahill as the go to people for any goals will make a difference

Which genius mentioned about Kennedy ??

Happy your dreamin again

mine tastes like tinea….

I read your post thinking whats he bagging himself for... I watching delayed on SBS.... he wasnt even on the park...

nevermind... Im a power-clown!

gotta say reynolds' dive was right up there with what some of these iraq players were dishing up. not cool

I'm even more confused now , but thank God we won

It was good to see Kennedy get an international goal for the first time since 2010

Getting a haircut probably helped

Josh "Jesus" Kennedy saves us with a header again.

Performance wasn't great but we're going to Brazil and all that matters.

Watching the Socceroos is like watching my beloved West Ham

Create 6-7 really good chances and only bury one

Was just thinking , how many goals have we scored in crucial games around the 81st,82nd or 83 rd minute in the last 8 years

Was at the game, guys around us were going to book for Brazil but with 10 to go were looking to Uruguay instead. very tense but I was always confident we'd get up although I was losing hope right before we scored it. Still the result was the only thing that was important and we got the win.

We are the third team to qualify (along with Japan and Brazil) making us the Sam Thaiday of this world cup. Now to sit back and see who the competition is.

What I forgot to add is gee I hope we end up in the same group as the Poms in the group stages

I'd like that, of all the teams that are likely to be seeded (I find England to be the most beatable, although they aren't a lock to qualify by any means, best case scenario would be seeing them miss out altogether, which is a real prospect at the moment.

was glad to see us play on later in the game. If they were still in contention then fair enough, it's ridiculous to watch but there is a tactical side to it. But when you're playing for pride it is ridiculous. Basically the equivalent of saying 'we can't beat you in a football game so we will turn it into something else'. The guy going off on the stretcher was just trying to slow the game down and break up our momentum.

Was at the game last night. That referee was poor.

Cahill copped special attention for most of the first half and ref gave nothing. Looks like Iraq have their diving team locked away for the 2016 Olympics. I expected that and thankfully the referee saw past the BS for the most part and keep the card tucked away.

Did the Iraqi #8 end up getting carded for simulation after waving away the stretcher the second time he went down? I had some fool standing up in front of me for a large part of the game and they don't show replays at the ground so I missed that.

I would hope that the FFA look to schedule quite a few international friendlies in close succession so that the lads can bunk down together for a month and further improve their combinations. McKay and Oar worked well together and terrorised the Iraqi's on the left side. Kruse, Bresciano and Holman were contained a lot more than I thought they would be.

Holman started well but faded and Kruse was a little off compared to the game last week. Bresciano was off too. Cahill was getting poor service all night.
We definately need a few friendlies close together before the World Cup so the combinations get stronger. The left side was working well but we need to find a better option then McKay at left fullback.
When we play some of the quicker sides we'll get found out unless we unearth a good central defender. Neill and Sasa are sitting back for that reason and we'll then get found out in front of them.
At this stage, if we manage to get out of the group stage it will be a successful World Cup.

LOL… Liverpool are going to lose 20 million quid on Andy Carroll signing with the Hammers. They bought him from Newcastle for 35 million.

Is McDonnell moonlighting for the Scousers in the off season?

You seem to sound heartbroken by the news CB

Let's not forget the 30 million we made out of Chelsea for selling them torres we only paid 20 million for him and sold him to chelsea for 50 million we're still ahead by 10 million plus the money the hammers paid us while Carrol was on loan.
