I hear that the first EPL manager already gone 5 games in

Di Canio gone ,you shouldn't treat West ham legends that way

Same bloke who pushed a ref over after being sent off?
He's received more respect than he ever deserved.

Glen ,while he plays or coaches West Ham it is acceptable 😱pen_mouth:

I really feel sorry for the bloke

Sunderland were done and dusted until he took them over and he gets them up

Crazy night Man U lose ,Man City lose and the Hammers have 3 times as many shots on goal and still lose

Someone please loan us a world class striker

We bought him off you and he will probably miss the season with a freak heel injury that has reoccurred

Looks like we are back to Carlton Cole , a bloke we dumped to sign Carroll

We create so many great opportunities that we just fritter away :brick:

A bit late on this but that West Brom game was atrocious. Our backline needs some serious work. Ferdinand got turned around all game. Time to go buddy…

So

Man City who?

Dead set, Bayern could have won that 6-0 based on the flow of the game. City did well to keep that respectable. It's going to take a big effort to knock Bayern out of the Champions League this season. They're a massive chance of going back to back.

That said, is there a more overrated player than Joe Hart? It seems every week he is making a monumental stuff up, yet he has a mortgage on his national team position and his spot in the City first team. He's the weakest link in both teams.

Don't get any ideas about sending him home

He is Man U's cross to bear

Apparently we're still looking at Herrara from Bilbao. Would perform well in the EPL, although I'm not sure I would want him to leave there as Bilbao (they're my La Liga side,) has been going alright even after the departure of Llorente.

Back to back rude awakenings for Australian football France wiped us 6-0

The squad needs change now , many of the 2006 World Cup squad are well and truly past their use by date

We need a coach who is prepared to make the tough calls now

Is Graham Arnold or Ange Postecoglou the right people for the job ,I'm not sure , but I think we need a coach who is prepared to live with some bad results and set us up for the future

We need a local coach now , it is time we grew up and stood on our own two feet

I'd be tempted to give Arnie a run. Good history with bringing on promising kids and getting the best out of them. I would think he'd have to step back from the A-League and I don't think that is a good move for the league.

I've heard Marcela Bielsa is a candidate, I don't know a lot about him, but according to Wikipedia (yeah I know) he has achieved some good results in his career.

In other news, Germany, Colombia, Belgium and Switzerland all qualified for the world cup. No surprises, but all 4 of them could also have put half a dozen past us based on recent form.

It will probably depend on what sort of contract is on offer MM

Hopefully we appoint someone with the view to the future and not a stop gap measure until the end of the current World Cup campaign

I believe Guus is still a good option. People complain about looking to the past, but he got results.

If he were willing to commit long term I'd be happy to have him back. If he were to nick off again after the Cup we should be looking elsewhere.

Lucas Neill really went hard after the young players in his presser today. He said they don't have the passion of the older players, and to be honest I think he should be stripped of the captaincy (although his performance doesn't warrant selection in the side anymore). If he gets on the plane to Brazil it will be another disaster. Whoever takes over as coach needs to conduct a big clean out. It is time for guys like Neill, Carney and Holman to be moved along.

Disgraceful interview. If the incoming coach is worth anything they'll swing the axe.

Don't quite agree with your comments regarding Holman though MM, he was our best player at the last Cup and can still mix it at international level. If they are going to take an old fart to Brazil it better be Bresciano.

Holman needs to be kept IMO

Lucas Neill isn't a central defender and his age combined with that makes me believe he is finished

I'm up in the air with Bresciano as well

Tommy Oar needs to be utilised as well as Kruse

And if by some miracle we can find an out and out striker , Cahill needs to play as a midfielder who can push forward

Schwarzer must stay , he is keeping as well as ever

My set up would be a 3 2 4 1 .

I think we can get our defence right , but will still struggle to score goals v the top sides

For a senior play in my opinion Holman makes a lot of bad mistakes. He is very rocks or diamonds, but if can find a proper striker, we can shift Cahill into a full time midfield role, along with Rogic, Jedinak, Holland, Milligan and Bresciano who are all capable of playing in central midfield.

I think my big gripe with Holman comes from the fact he went to Villa and didn't get a lot of game time so packed up and went to a weak Middle Eastern league. I would love for the new coach to tell the players that if they go and play in weaker leagues (or go to a club where they don't get any game time) that they won't be considered for selection in the future.

That is almost the exact opposite of what the last few coaches have attempted to do.

I'm with you up until the last paragraph. It's a double edge sword. You can be in a better team but if you get no game time, it's not going to help your game.
