2012-2013 Football (Sokkah) Thread

The Cove walked out at the East Sydney FC game after the capo followed his wife out for being ejected. They held up 2 banners and chanting wanting the board, coach and CEO gone. It's sad to say but they are an absolute backer case. The very definition of shambles.

**Sydney FC** Can't half tell you're a Wanderers fan.

I was sitting in bay 8 last night with a mate and saw the walkout, what a pathetic attitude displayed by the Cove. Self entitled sooks, support the players through thick and thin.

The whole club needs a shake up. I'd punt Farina, Kalac and Vidosic, as well as Scott and Tony.

What a result in the Liverpool Arsenal game

Missed the first 20 odd minutes and just could not believe the 4-0 scoreline at that stage

The bottom 10 sides are just crazy at the moment , clubs jumping 5 positions on the back of a win

I can't stand Liverpool and don't mind Arsenal but it is so typical of them to choke at this time of the year…

Liverpool's first 20 minutes last night is as good as football as I have ever seen in all my many years watching. Their young manager Brendan Rodgers will go down as one of the very best managers in a few years. I hope the reds keep him.

That was lovely to watch from Liverpool. Coutinho's passing game is a delight. A young side bursting with talent. Sticking with Rogers despite finishing 7th last year is paying dividends.

I remember Bosnich opining that Arsenal struggle through January and February because Wenger insists on a one touch, pass intensive game plan that falls apart when the playing surfaces become weather effected. Not sure that excuse can be used anymore given the undergroung heating technologies and general high standard of EPL facilities.

Finished 3rd with a side full of kids a season or two ago, most likely finish 3rd with a team full of stars. Don't know how Wegner has survived this long, if they choke and drop the league this year, he's gone ten years without a PL trophy, and nine years since their last trophy (FA Cup.)

Another unexpected result for Man U with a draw at Fulham

I wonder how long it will be until the knives are out for Moyes

Hammers complete their 4th clean sheet (first time since 85) and third win (first time since 2007) in a row to jump to tenth on the EPL table with a 2-0 win over the Canaries

And here I was worried we'd be relegated LOL

Champions League over the past 2 nights has seen the first 4 ties pretty much decided after their first legs

City 0-2 Barca
Arsenal 0-2 Bayern
Leverkusen 0-4 PSG
Milan 0-1 Athletico

Hard to see any of the 4 teams there losing at home, next week we have
Galatasary vs Chelsea
Olympiacos vs United
Shalke vs Real Madrid
Zenit vs Dortmund

If Chelsea/Manure/Madrid/Dortmund all get up is it safe to say that the 8 best teams in Europe will contest the quarters? I guess you could argue that Man U are not in the top 8 right now and City or Arsenal should be there, but the rest it's hard to argue. There's going to be some cracking football ahead of us.

All the away sides should get up. United has certainly been woeful in the PL, but have looked good during the CL. They can be anything on the day. I still expect Bayern to take it out.
