2012 Trials

What a weekend !

Saturday 4th February 1st trial Campbelltown Stadium on a beautiful summers evening vs Southern Stingrays. We should see a lot of the young guns get a go here.

Then Sunday 5th February Save Our Sides Protest Rally. Life just doesn't get any better than that.

1st Trial coincides with the annual All-Stars Game up on the Gold Coast.

According to my desktop Gadget countdown timer, As of Friday AM that's only 29 Days 11 Hours 15 mns and some seconds

x2

thinking of seriously moseying on down to see our boys take on the stingrays - more out of curiosity to see who they will put out on the park against them

First trial is normally for the fringe guys and youngsters so maybe guys like Grant, Chisholm, Humble etc will get a run. The big guns don't normally come out until the second trial.

the sting rays are a group 7 rep team

They'll be cannonfodder for the Tigers. The side will include players ranging from as far north as Albion Park and as far south as Batemans Bay. In recent years Group 7 has not been as strong as it once was with the better players usually snapped up to play in the Illawarra competition.

Does anyone know if you will be able to get tickets on the day, or will it even be free?

If past experience is a guide they certainly won't be free! Apart from (possibly) the Leichhardt game you should have no dramas getting a ticket on game day. I don't see the Stingrays game being a massive drawcard…

I remember back in the day when trials were free (especially the ones that didn't involve the first grade stars).

The first trial at Cambo against sth stingrays should be no more than $10 entry imo….its getting ridiculous the prices for trials considering theres often no info, no programs and when there are theyre usually wrong info

yeah you have to spend half the night playing "guess the player"

You get a "programme" for the Foundation Cup but any relationship between the numbers listed and the players wearing those jumpers is purely coincidental.

Anyone know if the Trial match with the Stingrays at Campbelltown is still on? its no longer on the NRL Trials website.

I don't think it as "NRL official" trial (i.e. not one of the two trials that count for NRL suspensions etc. That's possibly why it isn't on there. Our official NRL trials are against Easts and Parra (from memory). The Stingrays trial will be mostly state cuppers, new guys, and young guys.

AFAIK it is still going ahead…

Definitely been removed :frowning:

Other teams NRL clubs are playing include ….

Newcastle Rep Squad
Brisbane Easts
Sunshine Coast

...are still up there
