What bids do you think will get the licenses?

I think PNG will be a no go, because no players will want to go there

I think it'll be Central Coast, and a second Brisbane team.. i dont think Perth will go to good but you never know..

Here are some sites

Thoughts..

Perth and Brisbane respectively…

I feel slack saying this especially as The Bears are the most prepared.

Simple fact is the NSW needs no more teams.

Introduce Perth, Central Coast and Brisbane.

I agree with Spartan's comments that NSW does not need more teams. Therefore, the NRL should revoke the license of either Cronulla or Manly.

I'm pretty sure Cronulla's development got shut down since where they were building is a flood plain. They might be the first to go.

I think Perth is the best opportunity financially and then a 2nd Brisbane team.

Thoughts..

Perth should be the first one picked out of all those bids. I think a second Brisbane team should get the other spot. Central Coast really isn't that far from Sydney or Newcastle and I don't think we need another team in NSW. PNG should re-enter the QLD Cup for now.

Bears have guaranteed fans, i dont think perth will work

Does anyone know where CQs team will be based if they get the license?

Ive heard Rockhampton or the Sunshine Coast but Im not fully sure.

I think the NRL will prefer Brisbane and Perth.

Brisbane probably needs another team and I think the NRL will like Perth because it opens up another timeslot as they are 3 hours behind and it gives the comp a more national feel.

They have a junior comp there, the Reds have been playing in the lower grades and I think they can develop a good support base.

If Cronulla collapses they can then introduce three expansion teams. I'd make them CC, Brisbane and Perth. It would be great if they introduced some kind of format that would make the season schedule fairer, perhaps a promotion/relegation system or a set-up with two conferences like in the NFL. But with the way teams are located that's unlikely.

In terms of time zones and live footy into Sydney after a Sydney/QLD based game it would be great, no ads in the second friday night game!

I'm living on the central coast these days and would love to see a local team.
(Tigers would always be no1.)

Unfortunately if the Bears are foisted on us I will have zero interest. Most people
up here want our own identity and certainly not a losing culture like the bears.

My views are widely shared by locals.

Perth and Brisbane2 or Ipswich (makes little difference to me which). SEQ needs another team much more than NSW, and it would be great to get Perth back into the comp to make the geographical spread so much more. If they expand to 20 in the future, maybe Central Coast and NZ2.

How about the Central Coast Squids?
Hahaha.

I believe NZ want another team also.
Wellington Orcas ?

Bring footy to Central Qld . They were seriously interested in our bid . My son and one of the consortiums faces sons are in same class at school .Because of the growth potential in the area and major projects at the mines and LNG at Gladstone You could see they were shocked and we have a major backer also . We are the outsiders probably to get the gig but Gallop was very impressed . Soft spot for Ipswich also as my old hometown also

The only time I ever hear of any backing for a central queensland team is through queensland newspapers and a few queenslanders themselves and they (both the qld papers and people) seem 100% certain they'll get it.

In NSW there is no news at all of any central queensland bid. Probably half of people in NSW have never heard of Ipswich nor would they know where it is.

Well if I gave you a list of Ipswich juniors or players involved with Ipswich footy that have gone to bigger and better things you would be amazed . Noel Kelly a wests legend is a Ipswich boy . At one stage the entire Australian front row all came from Ipswich Tommy Raudonikis was a coach at the Ipswich Jets for 3?? seasons Alan Langer three Walters brothers Willie Carne the list goes on and on Ipswich is growing at a extraordinary rate as prices in Brisbane become too high . They are the real dark horses in my opinion

I agree with Demps we dont need another team, 16 is enough. Imagine if there were more teams and we had the same dramas again with our massive injury toll, how would we be travelling then???? we have a big pool of players to call on and are really struggling at the moment to field a competitive team, REALLY we should have beat the gold coast by a big margin, they arent the force they use to be thats for sure.

We have heaps of players in ESL how could come home and play in NRL . Think 18 clubs would be perfect Will find that salary caps will increase in next few years also
