2014 Leadership Group

My definition of leadership obviously is at odds with many ….what's been happening over the last few weeks makes one wonder if the word leadership and tigers players should be used in the same sentence! I would say exactly he opposite.

Siro

long term captain

if lawrence (form permitting), woods and even tedesco stay for long- then along with sirro, they could form a formidable leadership group.

it's interesting to see manly where they have locals like the stewarts, watmough, kite etc. yet they chose to make lyon their captain.

They chose Lyon as their captain because he is the best talker in the team. Handy when, as Manly captain, you are allowed to argue with the referee as 5 minutes.

Blair?

lol, any bloke who requires 18 months to start playing acceptable football is not a leader.

mick potter disagrees.

Backs are likely to face a lot of inexperience, which is why i wanted braith at 6 to help that along with richards maybe on the wing or centre. But obviouslly, anasta has been playign abysmally so perhaps Austin will have to fill that position.

My nightly prayers to baby jesus are all about Anasta retiring and any other playing turning out to be a decent 5/8.

Maybe Blair walked into the boys club and figured it best to keep quiet? Who knows what the hell's been going on.
Hopefully Halatau and Richards have the connection to call it as they see it if the culture of entitlement prevails.
Definitely needs to be a balance between supporting your mates and ensuring the team's interests foremost.
And some mongrel driven strategy on the field. An end to off the cuff comebacks. Time to start talking on the field especially when we're down.

Anasta has experience … Lol

thats another way of saying 'Anasta is old' to justify picking him.

Arthur Summons is experienced too. Should we pick him?

Experience is an asset when combined with ability.

Anasta's ability is not better than Sironen. He does not deserve a spot in the team purely because he is old.

Sironen has played 2min of Rugby League, and continually lacks concentration in defence, as one would expect for his skill set and time in the game at the top level.

Anasta's 'ability' is far superior than Sironen's… Your just being silly!

Far superior than Sironen's?! I just spat my coffee out! Maybe 5 years ago but not at this stage of their careers. Players lose ability and Anasta has lost most of his.

Yes we saw Braiths ability against Manly compared to Sironen.

we need more of that Braith in our side & less of that Sironen.

do you watch games or just wave a flag?

I don't know about this whole leadership thing, all players should be accountable for their actions and they're all adults (well physically at least anyway!). But as far as guys who I assume, set a good example for the younger blokes coming through, I'd look at Lawrence, Woods, Galloway, Halatau, Farah, Blair and Richards.

I must admit I didn't mind having Meaney in the leadership group ,a voice for the NSW Cup side isn't a bad thing

Seeing what was said about Reddy and his work with the back 3 and how far and quickly they have improved if Reddy stays he must be there also
