I bloody hope so too ET,I was up there yesterday for work and caught up with a friend that works at Keebra Park and the story she told me about Lamars situation was a strange one.I hope she is wrong but I doubt it with alot of stuff she has said in the past has been 100% correct. :sign:

Think you might be confused there lionheart? Sure Lamar's brother plays for the Dogs but Lamar's been contracted to us for a while now. He's already been confirmed by WT as a member of the NYC squad. So why then would the Dogs be playing for a player who isn't even contracted to them?? Highly doubt they would. Cash in a brown paper bag under the table kinda dodgy if they did!

I know the Dogs wanted Lamar and the brothers had expressed an interest in playing together, as family typically would, but lots of brothers don't end up playing for the same team. They will still be able to live together so that should be sufficient.

As for Fafita, disappointing if so. What's with these Queenslanders getting so homesick? Barba, Milford, Fafita? I'm sure players from other regions have issues too but they don't go running home anywhere near as often as these Queenslanders. Don't know any details about Fafita though so I can't comment specifically on his situation.

I'm not sure if the Tigers actually select these kids from NZ and send them to Keebra or if Keebra have someone in NZ selecting. We should be sending them to Holy Cross or St. Greg's so they are making friends/settling in where they will be expected to play footy.

Keebra Park also has girls which is another distraction these kids face, these kids settle in and get comfortable at the Gold Coast and then naturally become reluctant to move on and want to go back there at the first opportunity.

Keebra hold an invitation only trial in Hamilton, NZ in around about Oct each year.

great news!

what position is he, havent heard much about him

Haven't heard much about him? Really? He's been mentioned a fair bit on here, not as much as Seve though.

Great news!

He was one of the key players for Keebra. Basically the player of the year. A very creative 2nd rower who set up a huge amount of the tries scored by Keebra this season through his angled run, offloads and step. That left edge with Liolevave, Seve and Iroa was bloody dynamite. Good to hear they're a close knit bunch and hopefully many of them will play first grade with the Tigers for many years. I have a feeling they will!

has he? probably missed that thread or forgot then

that's great to hear!! 2015-17 will be our window I reckon. People like Woods, Simona, Big T, Koroibete, Tedesco, Sue, BMM will be pretty much completely developed and close to peaking. Then people like Seve, Fiagatusa, Liolevave, Brooks, Moses will provide that young spark in areas we are currently lacking like centre, 2nd row and quality props.

good news.

I think we got the best of the Keebra kids. Martin, Seve and Liolevave seem to me to be the most likely to go on.

And JJ Felis was Keebra's key metre maker this season. He's apparently ours too but has another year up at Keebra. I guess that makes him quite young (must only be in year 11?) considering how well he performed that's a great sign. If Keebra was in Sydney he'd be playing in the NYC a bit this season too, but seems like he may have to wait a bit longer.

Give these boys an offseason and we'll see how they develop!

I reckon it's more likely that some of these NYC guys could play NRL ahead of the like of Gordon who have a 6 page thread already. Seems odd that some fans will go on and on about average squaddies, yet not care at all about the young stars we have coming along until they actually play first grade.

These kids aren't your regular batch of young kids coming through either, this is possibly the best batch of kids the Tigers have ever had! That's exciting and discussion worthy for me! SG Ball champs (2012, 2013), schoolboys champs (2013), nyc champs (2012). Unlike any situation we've ever had before!

but it all means nothing balmain boy, if the coach and the C.E.O dont sign good talent to help all the young talent to come along.

Agree, we have a super bunch, also the 201 SG Ball Minor premiers (Tedessco and Noffa graduatig from that squad nicely)

Amazing run of talent coming through.

We're not THAT desperate for experience, we have Farah, Galloway, Fulton, Dene, Anasta, Richards, Moltz and Blair who is often lauded for his committment and leadership in training. He was also voted in by the players in 2013 pre season as one of the 'leaders' at the club IIRC.

And the newly signed assistant coaches seem decent too. Wish we could get a good halves coach though, Kidwell, Potter and Payten are probably not the best for halves. Anasta should help with that though. But still wouldn't mind joey coming along and helping moses, austin and brooks out 😛ray:

Lamar's contracted for 2014 but WT will find it difficult to hold him for 2015 and beyond particularly if Bulldogs opt to hold Dujean after next year well.

Care to shed some light on that? If he and his friends from Keebra are all playing, winning and settling in to life in a new city together and have a really strong bond, would all this really be overtaken for the off chance he could play with his brother?

The brothers can live together, do they really have to work together too?

What if, on the other hand the Tigers made a play for Dujean?

What connection does he have to the Bulldogs in your opinion which is seemingly so strong?

With Dujean having had a year at the Dogs and with Mum and Dad and the rest of the family having moved here as well it's come down to preference and the relationship they've already established with the club. They haven't had that same connection with the Tigers.

Tigers are fortunate to have Lamar for this year at least. Ironcially when he, Ene, Hoeter, Gavet and older brother Dujean were all playing in the same club team through their juniors Lamar was always the younger understudy; he's clearer come out from under his brother's shadow and into his own. As many of us know he's had an awesome year in 2013.
