Surely Sironen is more than 12 months away from starting in the Backrow?

depends on who potter believes our next half is gonna come from. if brooks is more than 12 months away, then so is sirro in 2nd row. personally, i would have anasta in the halves and sirro in the backrow for next round though

Curtis will get eat'n alive starting in the Backrow now… His strength and motor wouldnt cope with the workload.

Hence why I cant understand why people are naming him to start there next year... He will need a good 6-12 months playing there off the bench first before getting a starting spot!

It's really too early to have an accurate crack at this as we don't know which players will be moving on or whether we'll sign anyone else but based on what we've got:

4\. Ayshford
5\. Koroibete
6\. Marshall
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods

Everybody keeps naming Marika Koroibete in their teams, do you realise he is not signed for next season??

We're a hopeful bunch on this forum

At this very moment Watto he has 13 weeks and an off season before next season

I think he has the frame to throw at least 3-5 kgs of muscle on in the off season

He mightn't be 100% ready by Round 1 , but with a well rounded bench he could cope imo

Based on the injuries we have, I think he is touch and go at the moment. Very raw like Koroibete but has clearly shown improvement from last year to this year, and let's face it, we need some strikepower out wide and solid finishers. I think if he gets a couple of runs this year in FG and has another off-season to concentrate on playing wing, he'll be worth a shot. He's a massive unit with good speed, suspect hands but I reckon that can be fixed with enough time and practice. I liken him to Tuiaki V2.0 and I don't think we'll see the best of Mr T for another couple of years yet.

Willow - I noticed your starting side was minus Pat Richards.

Why would we buy him not to be considered a starter on the wing or centre?

I personally think Buchanan can play a modern day lock and give our pack size.

Props would be Galloway, Woods, Gravet, Groat and Ava.

My backrow would be Fulton and Sue (he will only improve with 2013 experience).

LAWRENCE LAWRENCE LAWRENCE. Sure the guy has had injury issues, but if he isn't in our best 17 then I'll give it away. People have very very short memories.

People leaving Lawrence out of the Tigers best 17 for 2014 are nothing short of gibberers. Sure, the guy has had an up and down period since he injured his hip, but the bloke is a professional and one of the Tigers best hole runners. Is his best position still centre? That's what I want to debate. The bloke will be our best backrower next year. He is 100kg, quick, and find a hole and his front on defence is as good as anyone in the club. Given the quality young outside backs coming through, it's only natural Rowdy makes the transition into the pack, one he was always destined for.

Time to go to OPSM for a check up. Rowdy has lost his speed and hasn't found open space for months now. As for being as good a defender as anyone in the club, well that ain't saying much given the amount of points we've leaked this year, and Lawrence was good for leaking at least a try per game with his poor defensive positioning. Laterally he is a shot duck, either he's bulked up too much or his hip injury is inhibiting him from moving freely to be effective…and let's not start with his lack of chasing when the opposition get on the outside of him...

If I'm going to OPSM, you can come too. It'll be cheaper that way.

Aside from Robbie and Woodsie, not one Tiger has shone in the last couple of months. Lawrence has been injured for some of that period. I'd love to see him not play again this year, fully recover from what ever it is inhibiting him at the moment and bolt back in 2014\. The bloke is in our best 17, whether that be in the centres or the backrow that's up to Potts. Lawrence will make it into the backrow before Siro though, you can count your lucky chickens on it.

Very depressing talking about our 2014 team mid season 2013, have a funny feeling we will be talking about our 2015 team this time next year. I can only see a little improvement come 2014, unless we jags some real quality recruits. Could be wrong but really cant see our club pushing for the eight until 2015 at best

When we read things like:

''We need some front-rowers,'' he said. ''We've got some young blokes who are doing a good job for us in Ava [Seumanufagai] and Jack Buchanan. But eventually it's going to wear them down. We just need to bolster our [broader] squad up as well. We'll have to find something in the short term.''

…from Potter and 12 weeks on there is no change from back then, its hard not to think the way you do.

There must be a huge financial problem stopping the club from buying anybody worth more than peanuts. Very sad that the club will not divulge to the "resilient" fans (as described by COO Mayer) any information relating to availability of finance to purchase players. As a fan I feel that I am being used well and truly.

I think they may take a leaf out of Penrith's book and offload some big under performing contracts,if they can because I get the feeling their cap is shot

Lawrence has been nothing short of disgraceful this year, and you're kidding yourself if you think Lawrence will make it into the backrow before Sirro. Sirro already weighs 103kg and he didn't even have a proper pre-season due to his shoulder recon. He'll be a more imposing figure next year once he has a proper off-season. Unfortunately Rowdy has never been the same after his hip disclocation.

He has rose coloured glasses when it comes to Lawrence. I was a massive fan of his prior to his hip disclocation. Either through after effects or partly because he has bulked up too much, he simply isn't the same player anymore and his defensive reads have gone from being quite solid, to reserve grade quality and he really is a liability in FG these days. It's unfortunate it has panned out this way, but it that's the way it is.
