2015 NRL Head Coach

Griffin,
Walters,
Parish,
Anderson,
Taylor,

There are a few options available.

Just depends who they are after I guess.

I can't see them placing a rookie coach at the helm after this season, they would need someone with NRL experience. This gives Anderson the edge in my book, coached in 2 GFs at dif clubs.

Taylor, after being at the roosters as assistant, would bring across a winning attitude.

If griffin couldn't get that line up to perform, I have serious doubts.

Parish is untested at nrl standards. As is Walters.

It's anyone's guess???

Walters is aligning himself for the assistant role at Brisbane under Bennett

Benny has had a close association with Kevie for almost 30 years now

Many Broncos fans aren't happy with what Griffin has been doing with the Broncos line up and the way they have used their bench Especially with the fact that he leaves Thaiday and Parker on the bench at the same time

Many unhappy about the fact they are playing the World's second best centre at fullback and I'd agree , he was shocking at time v Melbourne and probably cost them the game

Taylor is riding Robinson's coat tails and the unbelievable roster that the Rorters have

They all have their pros and cons

The big question I would have is will they choose the coach before or after the GM is signed

Seeing that they will work closely together , they must be able to gel

There is only two legitimate options IMO if Potter is not kept. They are Folkes and Griffin. I know Folkes is coaching the Jillaroos, but he should be approached and offered the job. He has the experience is an authoritarian which is what we need, a coach that won't put up with any crap or boys club antics.

If we cannot poach Folkes then I believe Griffin would be the next best. Has done a reasonable job at Brisbane. The club needs their heads read if they go with Parish, Taylor (in the head coach role anyway), Cartwright etc.

I would take Taylor as an assistant (halves coach) but that is about it from the lot mentioned. The rest are rubbish!

The Folkes horse has bolted.

And how has the "Folkes" horse bolted? The bloke hasn't even been approached by the club. We all know contracts these days mean nothing.

Umm, it will come down to how much salary each applicant asks for I think.

Can we now afford a decent coach since the Sheens court case has been settled?

Well you were only after food and lodgings CQ

Your the man

I guess a lot will depend on who gets the GM of football operations job. If its a person who comes from a coaching back ground, ie Sheens,Smith or Elliot they may go for the cheaper inexperienced coach, like Payten or Kidwell.

If the GM comes out of a more administrative back ground they will probably go for the experienced candidate like Griffin.

Sadly I think we need a change, Potter did not deserve the crap he was dished up this year from our club, but at the end of the day your judged on results and bar about four games our results were poor, even a lot our wins were poor

if its not bellyache then Potter should stay. Afterall taking into consideration all the injuries again - headphucking - in the end we were only 2 wins away from the semis.

Cos it has. I can guarantee you he will not be coach in 2015\. I'd be willing to bet his name won't even be linked to the job.

"Cos it has" doesn't answer the question. Do you know something the rest of us do not?

Haven't read any posts on this thread, but my choice would be to retain POTTER. Plan B would be to sign FOLKES and/or TAYLOR. What I would like to see is a team of coaches at the WT, comprising of,

Head coach - Potter

Assistant coaches - Folkes + Taylor + Fittler + Siro

It might need $$$$ to get it to happen, but it will attract players to our club and it will set us on a path for success. A winning culture needs to become the norm at the WT. No more settling for second best. I know Balmain are broke, but they'll always be 1/2 of the WT, so please the Wests group kill off the us verses them mentality that exists and now is the time.
Fund the coaching line up and pay Balmains debt and give them back their place on the board. If all these combinations got addressed, dead will become the us verses them, the rise of the WT will take place.

No offence , but if we adopted that approach, then we'd be broke for the next ten years, we can't just print money . Who did you have in mind to pay Balmains debt ???

They already knocked back an offer to help from Wests before the NRL stepped in.
A lot of posts over the last few days have been clear that they don't want to kill off Balmain yet this has been made out to be Wests fault , by some.
It's an issue between Balmain and the NRL. . My personal preference is for Balmain to be able to stay , but if that's not possible ,wests tigers will still exist.
Even if Wests paid Balmains debt , what would happen when the next payment was due. Won't work !!
