Ballin is not in the same class as Farah.

I just can't see how you could justify playing Ballin instead of Farah. I don't get the comments trying to state that Ballin somehow suits us more than Robbie.

Look at Brisbane & Cowboys this year… They had simple/solid dummy half's take them to the GF because the structure around them allowed it.

Ballin has played in 6 Final Series from 9 Years in the NRL playing direct and blocking the middle, so maybe having a solid dummy half is better than super-talented dummy half in some structures?

Add his experience of those finals, there is no doubt Cherrington can learn alot from Matt playing NRL.

I wouldn't call Granville a 'simple' hooker lol
Quite simply, unless either Farah or Cherrington get seriously injured, Ballin is superfluous to our needs and the money could have been spent better elsewhere.

Assuming that we play two hookers then if Robbie or Cherrington get injured Ballin may slot right in. If we are only playing one hooker it really seems a bad decision.

I think the money should have been spent elsewhere and its another poor decision by Taylor. Hopefully his poor decisions are going to stop and he gets the team performing well.

If another club had picked up Robbie would have been nice to have Ballin there.

If there is a guarantee on Ballin's knee. I had an minor operation on my knee and was told 2 weeks later would be okay - took 6-9 months and never really recovered. Robbie is a safer bet in that manner.
