Crystal balls:

Seibold to Broncs, Furner takes coaching role at Bunnies, Bennet signs 3 year deal with Tigers but brings his assistant Jason Demetriou with a succession plan for Demetriou to take over when Bennett retires. Demetriou Tigers coach from 2022 onwards. We win consecutive grand finals in 2024 and 2025!

You heard it here first.

I fancy what your balls are saying.

The Bennett Seibold swap would work. Both could stay put and see out their contacts for 2019 and than swap in 2020\. I really think Bennett wants one last year at the Bronks to try and rub the CEO’s nose in some ….....! Saves the Bronksbeing forced to pay Uncle Wayne out to.

So I say Maguire our man, but he also may decide to wait and see what’s on offer during the year when heads start to roll at other clubs

How longer can Wests Tigers hold off on a decision? The players are starting to grumble.

Yes it is worrying when a bunch of plodders start grumbling , just highlight where the exit gate is !

Agreed. The decision takes as long as it takes to makes sure we've got the right one.

It sounds like our preference is Wayne, but a few dominoes need to fall.

If Wayne isn't signed up for 2020 with us, then we must have a solid plan B to kick off in 2019 (I assume Madge). As they must view Plan B better than a caretaker in 2019 (or Cleary rolling) and Wayne in 2020, which really isn't a terrible option.

bennet in 2019, is the best option imo, since it works with everyone including tigers and broncos, as well as rabs cause i heard that seibold was looking to coach the broncs

Bennett has always been my first preference mainly because of what and who he can bring with him but I’m starting to warm to the idea of Maguire as our coach after reading all the comments about him made by the current Kiwi Test players.

They think he is a fantastic coach, who has already instilled a winning culture in the short time he has been with them. If anything this is what we need! If he can do that for a Kiwi team that has always played well below their best in test matches then perhaps he can do it for us too?

Just a quick question to the pro Bennett supporters talking about how much better we'd be due to who he can bring with him etc. What talent did he bring / attract to the the dragons and Newcastle while he was there? I know Darius followed him, but no other names come to mind

Agree with what you say, Spud. Whilst Bennett was my preferred choice too, im not upset that we (potentially) have Madge as our new coach.

For me it’s more about what he brings with him moreso than who - high profile, will attract sponsorship, has the media walking on egg shells and the refs running scared. Imagine if the refs favoured us even half of what they favoured the Broncos this season simply because Wayne is our coach! We can only dream.

As far as the who goes - I think there may be one or two players willing to follow Wayne out the door if he goes. By all accounts TPJ, Oats and Lodge seem to be holding back, waiting to see what Bennett is doing before committing to the Broncos. I’m not sure if any of them have actually re-signed for next year as yet?

I know they may probably be a long shot to follow him to another club but if they did, I would much rather it be to us than to a team like Souths who don’t really need them.

This is the exact reason I was leaning more toward Bennett. I know many think he's past it, but his presence commands respect. Was one of the reasons I loved Sheens. That and the fact that he personally scouted talent was very impressionable.

We're playing Penrith at Suncorp. Its a 6pm Friday night game. Gus tweeted out a poster of it with Nathan Cleary posing on it. That should generate another 20 pages or so of melodrama.

Whats the odds on Brooks smashing NC!

I'd prefer Packer do it , but I'm not picky
