Disappointed about Bennett, but that was really only ever going to be a short term arrangement if it had come to fruition. Madge hopefully coaches us for a decade. Good pick up. Credit to Pascoe.

This is a very disappointing outcome. I have to say I expected more from our Board.

Please elaborate….

Go back a page or two and he does

I queried it as well

Could be beneficial for potential kiwi recruits down the track if Madge maintains his connection with the New Zealand test team. So long as it doesn’t compromise his duties with the Tigers.

It’a all a part of the development of the club. A few years ago we were going from Mick Potter to Jason Taylor. Now we are going from Ivan Cleary (rat) to Madge.

If we keep building our supporter base is as big as anyone’s, our training facilities will be top flight our stadium will be first class. We have juniors from Leichhardt to the Southern Highlands and a powerful leagues club and hopefully 3 in the future.

Somehow if Balmain can get back on their feet and some of our wealthy supporters get involved the club can be a powerhouse.

Madge is the safer option for us at this point in time and he is 44 there is a chance if we get it together he can be a long term proposition.

Good positive post

I hope he can balance both jobs

Could be really positive for us

Way too much emphasis is being put on this. He’s no different to any other rep coach in history. We didn’t benefit when Sheens coached Australia. Nor do many other rep coaches. The players are coached by them 4 or 5 times a year.

What’s the market on the day this becomes official?

Cleary’s gotta be released first. It’s possible that they announce Maguire and Cleary’s departure in the same press release, but I’d doubt it.

This Cleary thing is an anomaly. You’ll never see a situation like it again. It shouldn’t make us doubt Maguire’s commitment. He’ll be as committed as 99.9% of other coaches in the game.

Well written and thought out.
