What Wayne said was that We (as in the Broncos) will be back in 2019\. One journo has turned that into him committing when clearly it isnt that at all in fact by avoiding saying he would be back it's prob more likely he is gone

Yep WT2K, check that body language!

Funny how a comment from one man is a promise where a similar comment from another man is an unconvincing statement, this story just goes on and on and on.

So he didn't take up any of our cap space in the year he was at souths?

I thought he did.
I actually thought he took up a huge amount(in the first year).

He absolutely did. We all know it, not sure what Glennb is on about.

Over $700k we paid from our 2017 cap for Farah to play at souths, plus Siro's money to manly cost us close to 1 million of our cap, JT you moron

You are to kind JT is not smart enough to be a moron, quarterwit seems more accurate

If Cleary leaves, we had great opportunity to have Jason Taylor back on board, I am sure our ex-legend, born again WT will more than appreciate it

Over $700k we paid from our 2017 cap for Farah to play at souths, plus Siro's money to manly cost us close to 1 million of our cap, JT you moron

Complete rubbish and since Gallagher doesnt know what Im on about, Ill explain it one more time…..slowly.

Gallaghers point he is trying to push, is that Pascoe was not smart in allowing Farah to play for the Tigers and in fact it cost the Tigers $$$$$. This is rubbish.

The previous administration ( to Pascoe) under Grant Mayers leadership decided that they couldnt afford and couldnt wear under the cap $ 600k of Robbie Farahs salary in 2014 & 2015\. With Farahs (gracious) agreement, all agreed to defer payment of this money and it was back ended in his contract. In 2017 this money was owed to Farah and was paid to him. It was supposed to come out of the Tigers cap in 2014 & 2015, it came out in 2017\. This money was payable to to Farah and would have come out of the Tigers salary cap if Farah played for the Tigers, Souffs, Parra or if he retired and never played again.

The Tigers tried to get rid of Farah PRIOR to Pascoe https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/wests-tigers-set-to-announce-justin-pascoe-as-new-club-boss-after-he-quits-penrith-panthers-20150903-gjenna.htmlarriving. Under Pascoes leadership, Farah did indeed leave to go to Souffs. If he did not, he would have cost the Tigers the $600k he was owed PLUS the $600k for that years salary. Therefore he would have cost the Tigers $1.2M out of the Tigers pocket AND out of the salary cap. Pascoe allowed him to move on and signed a player for less than $600k and saved the Tigers a heap of money. I dont understand what part of this you dont understand? Yes there was some incompetent management in this but it was under Mayers leadership when they back ended Farahs money, nothing to do with Pascoe,

Correct. He played for souths and it came out of our 2017 cap. We then re-signed him.

Correct and in doing so, Justin Pascoe saved the Tigers a heap of $$$ both out of their bank account and the salary cap. What was your point again?

Incorrect.
The only thing moving Farah on to Souths saved the tigers from was facing an awkward following season when the club legend was off contract and was most likely not going to be offered another one based on his previous form.
The money although owed to Robbie was still costed to our Salary cap. The following year was all the Rabbitohs which most likey was from 500k or so, we may have actually got him back to the club with them paying some of the freight for his 2018 contract.

The point is we wasted that saving on Ballin & Mc ilwrick.

Hang on, Im not making the argument for or against Robbie staying or going, merely showing and proving that it saved the Tigers money. Im pretty sure there were MANY factors at play with Robbie leaving, not just playing ability or money.

We didnt pay any of his contract money when he was at the Rabbitohs.

On what planet would he have the right to a pay out from us :crazy

As things stand right now, that is EXACTLY what would happen, right here on earth. IC has a contract with Wests Tigers to coach our club. If Penrith just sit back and say "we'll wait until 2021", then the ONLY way we could get rid of him is pay him out.

If Penrith wait till 2021, why are we sacking him now?

There’s no evidence at all that we are :unamused:
But we are far from being in the driving seat if we start talking sackings.

Disagree.
I'm led to believe that SFX Sports :bash :blah and particularly Michael "Madge" Maguire :righton: are the key components in current negotiations being held between three clubs :dead in question.
I wish them all good luck :brick: :bash :blah :rant to satisfy all parties involved.
But right now I think also that WT are taking the tough stance and the worst case scenario for them is that they hold Cleary to his 2 years contract…... which to me is totally unacceptable outcome to all other parties.... and particularly Cleary and Panthers.

A real opportunity for Pascoe to demonstrate his skills IMO.I rate all 3 coaches about the same, and a step ahead of anyone else available
Clearys situation is considerably less than ideal, but its certainly not untenable for him to coach WTs for one more year in 2019 whilst we wait for Bennet…our situation is identical to the Broncos actually with a dead man walking coach.
..and if McGuire is too demanding,he mite find all ships have sailed without him..

Agreed the closest thing to adversity for Bennett and the bronks would have been when Bennetts coffee arrived 5 minutes late

It’s simple either Bennett or Maguire for 2019.
Either is good. I wouldn’t wait a year for Wayne he will have other options Maguire won’t.

**Maguire no thanks we could do better**. Wayne would be a great choice although personally Des Hasler would be my 1st choice

So why have we appointed potter,jt and Cleary? When we could do better…unless you rate them higher than Maguire? Maguire has just turned down manly because of there facilities in the last few days. Is concord better equipped than manly?

I'm not so convinced that Maguire is a great coach. One Premiership with a very strong Souths team then nada! Souths weren't even competitive in the following seasons. Bennett has far more runs on the board, imo.
