Maguire will be offered the Tigers head coach role next week. Hearing he prefers to stay in Sydney. Bennett is the back up plan preferred by Tigers and management but Madge preferred by Wests Ashfield.

I think long term better with Maguire

Short term bennett.

Hard to choose between them.

Very hard to tell which one will come.

I am not sold on Madge. Won a premiership on the back of a dominant forward pack, then it all went downhill.

Great resume from England, but coached Wigan, the super league equivalent of the roosters. I see Potter and Taylor in his past and history

Madge assemble the premiership team and alot of players that are in the team now.

His coaching did get stale on the team but I'm sure he has learnt and improved on that.

Time will tell but for all the "set to sign" and "On the verge of" thus far sweet bugger all has happened. I think you all need to consider that the genuine possibility exists that I Cleary will be our coach in 2019.

Possibly if made does not come to us.

That would be a disaster for all parties concerned. No winners in that situation.

No sign of our great leader…

It’s time folks…........ The Pom has said it; the Queen has said it; even the Wests Tigers employee I spoke to on the phone yesterday said it: Ivan is gone! He’s off the bus! Whether it’s speculation, smoke, fire or perception .... he’s gone!
Like our old mantra said: UNITE, COMMIT, PISS OFF WHEN IT SUITS!!

What did the Wests Tigers employee say?…. Did he offer advice or did you ask the question?

I reorganised my membership and then ended the conversation by saying “so do we have a coach yet?” She replied: “the new coach will be announced…....I mean the coaching situation will be finalised next week” I said, “so we’ve got a new coach.” She said “I’m saying nothing” and laughed. Could be nothing. Then again.......

Maybe. Maguire is certainly drawing some interest though and I wouldn't rule him out of taking over the reins soon.

I'm saying nothing can be ruled out at the moment.

Further to my last post Bennett is a long shot as he is content playing out next year with the Broncos and given his vintage Maguire is the odds on candidate. A mate of mine was asking the club these questions as he has a player under management at WT.

I was too curious and had to ask questions as a member I want Ivan gone happy to replace him with Ronnie Palmer.

Not sure if I'm missing some nuance in your post. Of course it's possible Cleary will be here in 2019, most people on this forum (me included) don't seem to think it's probable he'll be here in 2019\. The fact that SFA has happened doesn't preclude the possibility that a lot of things aren't happening at a less than public level. But, as you say, time will tell.

Nup, not Macquire. My mail is it's Jason Taylor back to finish off what he started! The Manly stuff is just a smokescreen.

The nuance, if there is one, is that a lot of people are operating under the assumption that Cleary definitely won't be our coach in 2019.

Well if Cleary stays that would be a disaster as mooted by Reynolds and Brooks.

Wests Tigers have made a lot of dumb decision in their short and uneventful history but keeping Ivan Cleary on as coach for 2019 will rank up there as the worst of them all.

Management might be peddling that line as some sort of legal view point but reality is that the majority of fans, media, players, other coaches and staff just wont cop it.

Would be an absolute disaster.

Did they say it would be a disaster? I don't remember that.

Fair enough, I agree it's possible he'll be here.

Well I m not quoting directly but both said it would be difficult working for a coach who had signed elsewhere

media; Who gives a rats?
players; Name them!
other coaches; Maybe looking for a job, otherwise who cares?
and staff; Name them!
