Great news re Brooks.

Hope Bennett changes his mind about 2019, but not holding my breath though.

Just hope we don't look back in 2-3 years and say if only we got Wayne Bennett on board when we had the chance…

Yes I think Bennett would have been a better choice.
Hope Maguire does the job required. Not an upgrade ….. only in my opinion.
Very happy about Brooks however.
At least it will be settled now.

Yep with you on all counts there. Gotta give Madge a chance I suppose, but it sucks to miss out on a coach like Bennett- so close, yet so far.

No good for us, no. But he wants out now, and it looks like we are upgrading so I couldn't care less.

It may be no good, but he'd still be honouring his contract, the same way the other 2 did. Wouldn't mean the hate for him would be anymore justified.

Me neither! The hate word gets bandied around a lot by bitter souls. I’d be happy if Ivan saw out his contract with us then moved onto Penrith in 2021\. I’m sure he’s professional enough to do the job that’s in front of him. Equally as happy to have Bennett as a replacement coach if Cleary wants to move on now.

There’s way worse things going on in the world to be pissed off about than coaches or players wanting to change NRL teams.

Let it go Flip. You’ve chased me around for 12 months chastising me for my opinion on this. I didn’t bring them up to have another rant about them, I was using them as an example as to why I can understand the bitterness towards Cleary. I don’t feel the same, but I know sometimes supporters are irrational. That’s what passion drives you to sometimes.

As others have said, great news re Brooks. I think he genuinely loves the club. That’s obvious given he would be in a pretty good position to field offers from much more attractive clubs.

Not just great news for Brooks but great news for the whole playing squad that this will be sorted very soon. They deserve so much better than the rubbish this club has been through the last few years and didnt deserve another year full of speculation and media beat ups.

They might actually start to perform if we can give them a healthy functioning environment.

Good news with Luke and I don't mind if we get Madge for 3 or 4 years , least we will be settled , any word on the 2 players we were looking at as when I emailed Pascoe he said we were looking at 2 , that was last week

Yes contracts mean very little nowadays.
There are number of reasons why we could expect to be changes to the current 28 contracted squad players list.
Interesting to see how it all works out over the summer months.

a 4 year contract with Wests Tigers. Cleary will be off to panthers.
These two moves will settle all this crap talk about the coaching fiasco between
Wests Tigers and Panthers.
But , what it will do , is create a new fiasco between the Broncos and Souths.

I think so… also Im pretty sure rochow was coached by Maguire.. I could be wrong on that.. Someone can correct me if so.

THE ONLY THING I SEE WRONG WITH MAGUIRE, is i dont see him bringing any players our way, hes only coached at souths and i cant see any of them coming are way. so it looks like we have to start all over again, it just never ends.

Firstly it’s you that needs to let it go! You’re the one who keeps bringing them up every chance you get - much like that fellow that somehow used to bring Robbie Farah into just about every comment he made.

Secondly what the hell is Flip? Are you swearing at me nicely? Using the alternative word for the swear word beginning with F?

Thirdly yes passion does make people irrational at times. Like I said there are far more important things in life to get mad over.
