We're playing Penrith at Suncorp. Its a 6pm Friday night game. Gus tweeted out a poster of it with Nathan Cleary posing on it. That should generate another 20 pages or so of melodrama.

Only when he threw all that said money away and has to deal with the consequences of that for the next 2-3 years. Id run too.

I get that you’re a JT fan but if you don’t think this club is in a better position now, regardless of the current coaching situation and what happens with it, from every aspect, including most importantly culturally and playing roster wise, I don’t know what you want!? Other of course than reinstating Taylor Because he would have a descent cap to work with…. The problem with that is that JT can’t manage an end of season drink let alone a first grade roster for a season..... That’s the difference between IC and JT and that’s the reason IC will coach next season and into the future and JT will never head coach an NRL squad ever again....

We aren't in a better or worse position, we're in the same position. Cleary had an entire cap to play with and bungled it royally. You can speculate what JT or even Potter would have done with a balanced cap, but we can never know for sure. If/when Cleary goes, the next coach will inherit a mess of a roster thanks to Ivan. He's left the roster in a worse state than it was when Taylor left for the simple fact that, Cleary arrived with a clean slate and will leave with a lot of the roster he brought in signed for multiple years.

Lets not forget the moment Cleary signed everyone thought it was a given that the big 4 would automatically stay on. He was built up to be so much more than he is its not funny. Now he's stabbed everyone in the back.

Seibold has gone to ground like Cleary confirmed by the Rabbits that contract was upgraded contract offered 2 weeks ago.

The assumption is he is going to the Broncos and **Souths will get rid of him as it’s untenable to have a coach I The last year of his contract going to another club**. Furner has been told he will be the replacement.

Broncos wing wait a year with Wayne he will be paid out and Seibold start. Tigers will pay good money for Wayne and he won’t want to go a year on the sidelines at his age.

As I stated before odds are very short for Wayne to Tigers. Maguire is a long shot.

Get what? Haven't you been arguing for weeks that Cleary is gone and laughing at those who doubt it. In that case, how doesn't our club "get it" too?

Get that you can't run out with a coach who is already contracted to another club. Souths with strong types like Richardson and Crowe will remove Seibild from the role as soon as his Broncos job is confirmed.

As they should.

As it seems Pascoe and our club are doing.

Correct Pascoe should run him out of town all guns blazing.
People are bagging the way the club is handling this situation, keep it under wraps until everything is sorted.
Remember what happened when the Roosters announced that Bennett was their new coach before it was supposed to, Bennett backed out.
No other business would lay their plans out on a blog site, but Pascoe is being ridiculed on here for not announcing what’s happening with the coaching situation.

To be fair, Souths get it because they knew as soon as they tabled an offer to Seibold and he didn't re-sign that he was on his way out.

I think it may be the other way around. It’s been reported that Bennett is the Tigers first choice. Madge apparently is our fallback option.

That’s my understanding as well.

I understand we are targeting Bennett as a priority and madge as a fallback option

What we are speculating in the 1st 2 posts is that it seems madge is prioritising the broncos over the tiger's and that it is more than likely he will miss broncos job

In that case if and only if he had the chance to sign with tiger's for 2019 because Bennett didn't want to come until 2020 than madge may have just cost himself the chance to get an NRL coaching gig altogether

What coach worth their salt wouldn't prefer the Brisbane job though? I am not too miffed that we are not seen as first preference when clubs like Souths and Brisbane are also deciding their futures. Their rosters, ability to attract players and TPA's are much better than ours, that makes them a much more palatable destination than us. We still have this perception that we are basket case despite the front office making inroads with sponsorships, COE and memberships.

If Seibold doesn’t extend his contract and Souths move him on for ‘19 it might force Bennett’s hand, because if he sits out ‘19 people might forget about him.
I’m cool with either Madge or Bennett, both are an upgrade.

For madge to miss out would mean we probably get Bennett which would be great

Just saying that if madge had a chance to sign but didn't and misses out altogether it would be funny

It would show things are finally falling our way maybe may potential recruits to the club whether players coaches officials etc that we are a club worth coming to

Des back to Manly was a real shock I would have bet anyone that would not happen but it just goes to show we don't know much really , we have Madge , Bennett , Seibolt , Taylor , Toovey , Walters , all looking for a coaching job , I left CLEARY out as I think he is as good as gone , who we get I have no idea at all but once the first club come out and states we have signed X then it will all fall into place , Bennett could be a real chance hear early if Broncos secure Souths Coach but Madge could be the man for us as I think Bennett would be over the top $$$ for us

Wests Ashfield have posted a huge $$$poker machine profit, part of which could be siphoned to pay for Wayne.

I'd prefer Bennett but I just can't see him coming here. He's only got at most three years left you'd think and I can't see him getting WT to a point where we're a serious premiership threat until year three. I don't think he's in it for the money as much as for the personal achievement.
My guess is Seibold goes to the Broncos and Bennett goes to Souths, that could be in 2019 or 20120\. I think Souths are a lot closer to being a premiership threat than WT and that will suit Bennett plus there were be some attraction in linking up with the Burgess boys.
That leaves Maguire and WT. While we are almost certainly each others second choice that doesn't mean it can't work. While I'd prefer Bennett I think Maguire could be good for us and is a definite upgrade on Cleary.
