2021 Grand Final discussion Souths v Panthers

The 6to go on the first tackle has to go... Make it a penalty this crap stops... Very tough on teams bringing it off their line... Pinpoint kicks suit this rule as it stands. To a T
Trainers stopping play when it suits also needs revising

Not fit to lace up the Wally "the King'" Lewis's boots.

As a player and a person.

Bennett to a T ...he will say whatever it takes to build the confidence of a player .....

Well deserved win but at the same time, these new rules absolutely suit them to a tee. No one has benefitted more from PVL being in charge than them really (maybe Turbo but that's it), there's a reason they went from terrible to the best team in the competition so fast

I thought this last year, but not this year.
Their title win was on the back of their defence.
This is the opposite of PVL footy. They only scored 6 tries in their 4 finals appearances.

Oh they fully took advantage of PVL ball, constantly offside, constantly slowing down the ruck and they do it more than anyone. Happy to give away 6 agains almost every set and take the absolute piss in the ruck, that's what I mean by taking advantage of the rules

They bash teams, kick to corners, cheat in the ruck until they break teams down and score. They're obviously still extremely good but these rules have taken them to another level and suits them perfectly

…and what is your problem with this? What you have described is the blueprint for winning football games. 6 teams did it this year and stood head and shoulders above the rest. Great team, well coached.

Did I say there's a problem with it? I'm saying the current rule set suits them absolutely perfectly and they took full advantage of it. Go back to the rules a few years ago and they wouldn't have been as good but that doesn't take away from their awesome season

Hopefully the 6 agains are scrapped though cause it's a terrible rule

Winners are chinners

Good on them, they deserve this success.

Of course they do...

Lol they were missing half their team.

What are you saying - they only took the field with 6 or 7 players.

If they had a full 17 selected - then they were well beaten.

Spin it anyway you like - they were losers.

Haha enjoy that win did you?
How did it affect our season?
How did it affect theirs?

Yes, I did enjoy the win as I do every Tigers win (whether it is deserved or not).

The other 15 teams I don't give a toss - they can all rot in hell as far as I am concerned.

We win but you don't give your team any credit. Good on ya!

Our team were an embarrassing pile of dog turds this year. Scoring a win against a team with 8 first choice players missing was nice. Good on us.
We came 13th and they won the comp. That’s what matters.

Maybe - but our pile of dog turds (as you call them) is not even 10% as large a pile as the Riff coach.

Enjoy supporting that Scumbag and the licorice all sorts.

Gotta give it to the NRL... Love taps to the head all year are penalised but when it's a 2 point ball game in GF with a few minutes to go.... .. Oh no!

It’s just a 10 every game from him for existing. He was massive last night. ?

When he broke clear with a minute to go, I thought they were in. Never have I ever cheered the Rabbitohs hard than during that play.

I was screaming for support for him on his inside

Ledgit one of my favourite players overal in league atm he is so good

Would love to see him in a tigers jersey someday

Ok, I understand your position and I don’t agree.
It was their defence that won the comp and it would have done so in multiple other years. “PVL footy” is orientated to high scoring spectacle.
I picked these blokes to win the comp 2 months ago and was shouted down as Melbourne, Souths, Manly and even Parra seemed to have more points in them. They beat 3 of these sides to win the comp, only having to score 6 tries in four games to do so.
What they have achieved here is pretty amazing.

So the offseason begins offically technically

I feel the total opposite to how i felt last year at this stage

Last year i was extremely optimistic

This year i am fully expecting us to come 14th

So you forget how they got into finals? They were scoring 30+ on almost every time. I just explained how their good defence is massively due to how they take advantage of the 6 again rules but agree to disagree. Penrith have been premiership favourites since they lost the GF last year too
