2022 QLD Origin Team

Can't believe the Loyality here:
  1. Kalyn Ponga (Newcastle Knights)
  2. Selwyn Cobbo (Brisbane Broncos)
  3. Valentine Holmes (North Queensland Cowboys)
  4. Dane Gagai (Newcastle Knights)
  5. Xavier Coates (Melbourne Storm)
Sure Coates and Cobbo are a goer. But Gagai hasn't performed well all year and Newcastle have struggled. Of all that the Cowboys have done, Val Holmes has been flakey at best.
Yet QLD keep Holmes and Gagai in the Centers.

Flip that with NSW where Josh Addo Carr is replaced by Tupou and T'oo. Ofcourse T'oo has earned his spot on the wing. Yet JAC gets dumped when his performance has been very good in a loosing side. NSW (I say this as a blue supporter) naturally picks any Center that has lost a game in Jack Wighton. No real loyalty and just rolling the dice. With Crichton a full time center starting from the bench it makes no sense! (Kotoni Staggs bench impact anyone?)

Very telling that you see pretty much a Penrith + Parramatta forward pack vs a Brisbane + Cowboys. Ofcourse that has always been Queensland, yet I wonder if NSW will settle on a few consistent Sydney team to feature SOO.

There's a video of Todd payten telling his NQ squad who's made the Origin team.... Wasn't able to open it apprently it's very good

Amzing some were saying earlier he can't coach

Fox sports has the video.
Payten asked Slater if he could break the news personally.
Its very nicely done.
What a year they are having the Cowboys…6 players in Origin.
Rip in boys.

A good squad.
With Tommy Turbo injured it might give Ponga a chance to catch a bomb.
The big surprise is Tom Dearden as 18th man. Would have personally gone for Brimson.
If Grant isn't fully fit then Mahoney should be brought in.

QLD centre pairing is the weakness. If those two defend well, we’ll win. Can’t wait to see our bench rip in. It’s on fire.
Cotter for MOM.

Cotter, to me... seems like some one that will make the most of his opportunity.

A guy, no one really knew too much about but will now be an origin staple for the next few years.

Gutsy player.

Confident QLD will win this series.
