2022 RLWC

New Zealand were in front of the kicker and inside the 10 metres on numerous times. Australia were just very lucky they took a look on this occasion. They don't police it much in NRL either.

Lattrel Mitchell looked like a passenger for most of the game. He did some things but his walking metres must be huge.
I'm not sold on Hunt either.

Not one of the Penrith players ...they were all sub standard at best

RCG maybe ...have to watch again

Martin doesn't even make my 17 .....if you watch many of the breaks in the 1st half are because he is out of position ...he is so overrated
Agree. Martin may have a big motor however if the game was refereed consistant with the rules Martin would of been penalised at least twice for shoulder charges. also note the NZ forwards dominated for most of the game ........& where was the "magical" overated Cleary?MIA as usual when the forwards don t win the game for him.

The players love and respect Mal in the same way they did Beetson when he coached .....doesn't matter how and who you have around you ...but if you can get the best out of the side more often than not .....
Dont know why Mengina is so respected. The difference is Beetson actually ran over guys his own size. Mal made a career running over centres way smaller than himself & was seriously overrated. Just watch Jarrad Mckrakin nail Mal early in a test match. Thre "great" Meniga didnt run the ball for the rest of the match.

Mal Meningas a crap coach, he puts his name down for champion teams, QLD, AUSTRALIA, how did Mal go coaching Canberra in the nrl, couldn't make the top 8
He's on par with Freddy the physic grass talker, they both were hired by the mates club' Shades of the old league maffia of Arko, Bullfrog and Humphries, they ran the game .

Why then can you have only one foot behind the try line when defending & not be offside?
Never thought of that. I'm sure that back in the day when the majority of the rules were made up that alcohol or green vegetable matter was involved 😉

Why then can you have only one foot behind the try line when defending & not be offside?
Because it’s two different types of offside:

From a kick you must be completely behind the ball

For general play you need to have part of your body in line with the referee or instructed position.

Happy to explain the reasoning behind the differences if you’d like
