2022 Top 30 Squad Can Make The Semi Finals

The squad has talent and youth that is still developing ....
The key to reasonable success this year will be the performance of the SPINE...
Laurie,Hastings,Brooks and ? until Liddle gets back will be what drives our performances,as well as consistency and improvement every week from the remaining top 17 players.....with very few injuries....

Which games are we expected to win..?
We usually Win cowboys and Warriors at home. The wood on the Dragons these past few seasons.

Origin period as we usually don’t lose troops for selection. Those that we are short prized favourites not many but some and usually home.

Games that mean something to the supporters like playing for Tommy last season.

Just looking at some of the odds for the season - We are
1.14 to miss the 8
3.50 to have the most losses in the season
4.00 to beat the Storm in round 1
5.00 to make the 8
(Gamble responsibly)

I don't generally have a flutter but I wouldn't mind having a bit of a wager on making the 8, but $5 is ridiculously low if the so called experts believe we are as bad as they keep saying.

Come on make it worth my while.

I didn't know there would be a market on "missing the 8".. definitely a good bet at $1.14 and probably Cowboys as well if they are around that mark.

Cowboys 1.17 to miss the 8 - we have the shortest odd to miss the 8
We are also favourite to lose the most games

I'd take the five bucks. Only need to win a couple of the close ones we lost last year to collect.

Hard to be optimistic TBH. It's not a good side. We are the longest odds for a reason.
But hey, in 2005 we were 150-1 at one stage.
If we make the finals it would be a minor miracle.

Come on Madge, turn doubters into believers.

It’s not going to be easy road this year.
Early injuries have not helped us and I agree that our NRL roster lacks quality and experience.
I don’t expect much but will be happy to take any improvements on last years efforts.
…. wait and see and hope for the best.

I noticed in previous years Maguire has been asked if the season goal was to make the 8 - and he generally replies goal is top 4 it gives you best chance to win the comp.

This season I saw him asked if goal was top 8 and he changed the topic in his answer

I doubt very much we will make the top 8 this year, but I am very confident we will in 23. The recruitment is building very nicely & I totally trust Sheen's in his new role, I also believe Madge is the right coach for us at this stage & I think it would be counter productive to change coaches again now. I actually do not blame Brooks for our previous failures and with the right team around him, he will be fine and I am hoping he recaptures his 2018 form.

2022 will be like most years, we will show some good signs early, but when the grind kicks in after two months we will really struggle. 5 long term injuries certainly will not help, but I get the feeling the NRL don’t want to see blow outs, so maybe the refs might be under starters orders to keep teams competitive, unlike in the past where they belted the under dog

One thing I have learned watching the Tigers over the years is that on their day we can match the good teams but trouble is consistency, if the team can gel together we might just surprise a few teams this year Hastings shown some promise which we really needed, granted the Roosters weren’t full strength in the trial but he took control I reckon if he keeps it up he’ll be our player of the year
Roosters weren't fill strength, but neither were the Tigers.

The first 3 weeks will tell us all we need to know. Very winnable games. I personally don’t see us beating Melbourne, but if we did, it wouldn’t be the upset of the century. But our following two games are against Newcastle and the Warriors. If we come out of that period 0-3, it’s confirmation that we are in for another long year.
