Probably. I'll miss my mid-November chat with him about the 💩fight my renewal always is 🤣
It's a recorded message, he probably has the same conversation with everyone.
I was interested when I heard you mention the problem you had with the digital entry/membership or whatever that I assume was on your phone.
After the complete failure of trying to get my membership entitlements with that app or whatever their wonderful system was (the only thing I remember was that it was a fail) and having to get Joel to sort it out over the phone for me, I didn't want to have anything to do with a barcode or something like that on my phone as the sole means of ground entry and proof of membership.
I just had a feeling that it was doomed to fail at the turnstile when you are trying to get into the ground and felt that the old fashioned lanyard and membership card was the way to go, or at the very least have that as your back up.
In previous years we got a $30 voucher towards redeeming merchandise at the Roar Store or at the game and this year, from memory, we got a $25 credit and a bit of flexibility towards what we got with our membership.
The one that killed me was that if you wanted a membership card this year, you had to purchase it because it didn't come as part of your normal entitlements.
Well after the stuff up with their entitlement ordering system, there was no way I was risking an electronic/digital entry on my phone as my only method of ground entry in case things went pear shaped and the dramas of then having to try and deal with the security nazis at the ground.
What did I get as part of my membership entitlement and $25 credit?
- 1x Cap
- 1 x Scarf
- 1 x lanyard
- 1 x cardboard presentation box
- 1 x Membership card (had to buy this as an extra from my $25 credit)
- 1 x key ring (also had to buy this from my $25 credit)
- Postage (also had to pay for this out of my $25 credit)
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this more or less what we have always got in past years, plus a $30 gift card towards something from the store and generally we also got some bumper stickers or something like that.
Well for my now reduced $25 credit, I got what I listed above plus I had to use my $25 credit to pay for the membership card, the key ring and also pay for the postage.
What this left me with was a little over $2 in credit that you can't really do anything with.
Well I don't mind supporting my club, but when you take into account that we look like winning the spoon again, I don't see a great deal of value in my membership and feel like I have been ripped off.
