3-2-1 3 2 1 Cowboys [Round 2]

Again. Life is short. You want me to comment on something I have no control over whilst harbouring a worthless opinion. Enjoy your life brother. West's won convincingly today. Are you not happy? You want my soul - buy me a Merlot.

3 Luai - the elite performance we were hoping to see
2 Doueihi - directed team around allowing Luai to do his stuff; kicked well; scored a try; effort in second half to clean up a kick and get the ball out of the in-goal area in a set were we eventually scored was important
1 Samuela Fainu and Kai Pearce-Paul - powerful games from both

Alex Twal very good and close to points. Few errors in the second half, although second one probably wasn't his fault

Cowboys on a few occasions made too many meters and played the ball too quickly for comfort but overall very pleasing performance
Good summary MM, totally agree.

3 Douehi
2 Laui
1 Twal

But could have given 1 point to any of Turuva, Bula, Skelton, Api, Pole, Sam Fainu or KPP.

Makasini did good for 2nd game in nrl although his defence was caught out a bit, Luke L made a couple of errors but his effort was awesome. Hunt looked fitter but gave away 2 soft penalties, Seyfsrth came on for a good 20, Sione Fainu was good off bench too

3. Sam Fainu
2. Luai
1. Doueihi

Sam Fainu was terrific I thought. Lead our defence with his energy, tackled hard, ran great lines, scored a great try, heaps of kick pressure. This bloke is a future captain

Luai looked back to his panthers best back at 5/8 on the left edge. Was a threat with footy in hand constantly and right as we thought cowboys were coming back, used tremendous skill to kick off the post and score

Doueihis long kicking was very good for the most part, scored a nice try and showed his leadership out there. Really loves wearing the #7 it seems.

Very honourable mention for KPP - that's one of the best player debuts we've ever seen. Two great tries, but did great in yardage and defended strongly all game.

3 Luai -
2 Api - would give them both 3 if I could
1 KPP - great debut
Alex Twal/ AD - what a great club men inspired performances and also deserve recognition. AD's cover D was critical at times not to mention his ball work - what a transformation compared to two seasons ago.

Just on the live game feed, (I'll watch it again later today), I thought Luai was very good (3pts), Twal was immense and not only played the bulk of the game in one stint, continuously led the line speed and made impact on nearly every occasion and was there to score off Luai's kick if needed, (2 pts) and then a toss up between the 2 edge back rowers and A.D. (1 pt).

1. Luai

One of the best performances I've ever seen in a WT Jersey. 2 tackles against big forwards around the ribs for knock-ons, getting the most out of our back row weapons in attack, 2 tries from brilliant grubber kicks, one in behind and one off the goal posts. Sensational nearly every time he touched the ball.

Watch the game again he was absolutely brilliant and if he keeps doing that he's worth every damn cent of his massive contract.

It's a monster pack with the Cowboys.
You should never underestimate that, and we turned up.

KPP
Terrell
AD

But credit where it is due. Romey did great, Twal as well. Laulili was rough but still for a junior did decent, he will do ok for the Bears.

Day after reflecting and his leadership, particularly with our teenage outside backs was also a highlight. He continuously pumped everyone up after they did something great or made sure they switched on following errors.

My early tip for captain of the year if we have a good season.
