Early results:

Round 1 Votes
Andrew Fifita 23
Blake Ayshford 13
Chris Lawrence 13
Robert Lui 10
Benji Marshall 9
Lote Tuqiri 6
Keith Galloway 5
Aaron Woods 4
Matt Utai 4
Gareth Ellis 3

3\. Lui - made a few errors, but tried his guts out behind a beaten forward pack. Compared to our 9 & 6 who where terrible. (loved Benji's try though)
2\. Ayshford - plenty of traffic sent his and Utai's way, and thank god Blake was there!!!
1\. Galloway - done more domestic work tonight than usual. Looking forward to a big year.

no one desreves points frank stanton one year about 83 i think it was after a similar performance to tonights put saucers of milk in front of the players lockers they got the message modern players are soft

suprised with the amount of points Blake got. He was absolutly schooled by Morris when he made that break for Keating's try in the second half. He's not agile enough to be a top centre, his future is in the fowards. All his runs are forwards's runs anyway, never looked like setting up Utai.

3 - Tuqiri
2 - Ellis
1 - Galloway

3 - Fifita
2 - Woods
1 - Ayshford

for mine. Though Fifita and Woods were standouts in the limited time they had on the field looking forward to Gibbs return

8:30 this morning:

Andrew Fifita 69
Chris Lawrence 36
Robert Lui 33
Blake Ayshford 30
Benji Marshall 29
Keith Galloway 19

I went the following:

3 - Lui. Tried his guts out all night when it looked like Marshall and Farah were pre-occupied. Tried hard to get the ball moving and out wide, the try that was scored off his pass onto Hodkinson's head was pure luck and I was certain we could have put the ball in the corner on that set.
2 - Ellis. Was his usual reliable self, although did look a little off the pace.
1 - Ayshford. Went forward everytime he had the ball. Had one defensive lapse but was still one of the standouts.

:crazy Benji getting point is just silly

Blinded by the Marshall light me thinks….

Lui tried hard but makes too many mistakes and runs himself too often, he was ok, just, but a long way from our best.

My 2 bobs
3\. Ellis
2\. Lawrence
1\. Benji (scored 1 laid on 2, the rest of his games rubbish, but scoring plays are the important ones)

True, but I didnt see many other options for him most of the time…

His running meters was very high for a Halfback, the fact he had more offloads than any of our forwards is also a worry...

What else was he supposed to do... Play like Farah???

The bloke set up our first 2 tries and scored the 3rd himself by beating 4 defenders… without him we don't score a point.

Blinded by nothing.
