3-2-1 3 2 1 vs Souths

Going through the stats, I just have to mention, probably the greatest forward stats in a game I have ever seen, came from Cameron Murray the other night:

80 mins
30 runs
254 run metres
54 tackles @ 95% efficiency
2.95sec PTB speed

That is mind blowing. What a player.

Yes I made mention of this on Saturday.
What a monster effort. Any talk that this bloke is not hacking it anymore is misguided.

He would have great playing for us,his effort actually reminded me of what Wayne Pearce did for us (Balmain Tigers) in the past when leading his team from the front and never giving up.
Seriously wish Murray was one of ours and have done for years

Stef played 44 minutes = 22.54mins (1st stint) and 21.09mins (2nd stint)
Klemm played 49 minutes = 18.07mins (1st stint) and 30.53mins (2nd stint)
Papa played 48 minutes = 27.07mins (1st stint) and 8.53mins (HIA cover) and 12mins (2nd stint)
Sione F played 22 minutes = 22.00mins (1st stint)
Pole played 41 minutes = 40.44mins (1st stint)
Twal played 40 minutes = 39.47mins (1st stint)

Backrowers Seyfarth and Sam F both went 80.
Thanks Tucker
Appreciated

1. Papali'i
2. Klemmer
3. Galvin

I thought it was Utoikamanu's best game in a while. Luke Lualili'i was great in his involvements. Pole & Sione Fainu are great impact forwards at this stage. Seyfarth could be our second rower next year if he keeps on like this. Big effort player & more like him would be great.

I will say- Papali'i has not mailed things in & Klemmer & Utoikamanu are playing like these last few games matter. I love the attitude of the players. I don't think the bundle has been dropped, despite having every reason to be.

That makes a difference when thinking how some of them played

I was impressed with Sione. F
but hard to get a proper guide when he only played 22 minutes

Pole being on for 40 minutes in one turn would have been split with halftime I take it ?
Gets tired and Lazy quite quickly

Twal can play longer minutes than most of our middles but has less input than them all.

We will need 2x Middles with a bit of size next year to replace Stef & Pap’s

For the most part IPap has been solid the whole season in a poorly performing team. We just needed a few more like him to share the load. The expectations that you can average 35 plus tackles a game and then make tackle busting runs with ball in hand is feasible for only a select few and very rare in a team that finds itself on the wrong end of the scoreboard in most games. He will be a great acquisition for Penrith.

Yes. People tend to take criticism of our young blokes the wrong way.
Sam hasn’t played well for a while now. He needs a rest.
I think the management of these 18-20 year olds has been poor.
I think Benji has been between a rock and a hard place re these youngsters. There hasn't been much to pick from in order to rest them. Ideally they all would have spent a few weeks in cup. they've done really well to last the season, that's for sure.

You're a harsh marker on him. Bit overcritical
You said he was the main reason we won which is debatable and that he was great all game. That one is not correct.
I’m not critical of the kid. He’s doing a good job. I’m critical of the over the top praise for him.
If he was our 5/8th all year and we ran 7th…by all means gloat. We didn’t.

I'm not criticising him for the team performance even though 5/8 is a key position. He's overachieved, no one knew who he was before the season. It's not his fault we're struggling

I know plenty of people said Souths were bad but their forwards were quality and ripping in. Good win for our young blokes.

Bullshit.
Galvin basically did not play the entire second half. When the game was there to be closed out, he wasn’t doing anything.
Galvin was so absent in the 2nd half (I watched Ch9) and not one mention of how great he was (is) from Johns or Freddy or Gould after they previously circle J'd over him in the 1st half. Maybe he was suffering from a succulent Canterbury Chinese meal? Or maybe, and this is truly weird, maybe Benji said to them - Manage the game by playing smart - hit the ball up and kick, chase to the corners and try not to miss their counterattacks. Whatever was said, you are 100% correct Tucker - Galvin did not participate in the 2nd half.

Never said I blame him.
What I have always maintained though, is our backline isn’t working and I’m frustrated that Benji refuses to experiment with the halves even though he has multiple combinations available to him. He now says he has no options…that’s bullshit and concerning.
I do not like the politicking that’s occurring at the selection table.

Their attack was non existent.
Even Newcastle, with the competition’s worst attack, ran 6 tries past our shocking defence. It was worse against Souths and they couldn’t score.
Yes some of their players played well. Final execution let them down.

Yeah I agree. I think it's crazy we're relying on an 18 year old. He should have had a few breaks in the season. Look how bellamy manages fa'alogo. Could have easily played him a lot but keeps wishart over the season and now he's the best utility in the NRL

A spine of Paps Hughes Munster and Grant will block the path of any young players. There is nothing remotely similar to quality of the Melbournes top 30 compared to ours. Their depth players would make our FG team without doubt yet Melbourne can afford to retain them all
