3, 2, 1 Vs Warriors

Hes getting paid in excess of 800k to be the 7 who actually pulls the strings.
And he's not that - no one is denying that.

But that, like everything else, ain't his fault.

Brooks can't be any first grade teams main guy.

And neither can forum favourite Madden.

Yep I like your 321 but HM for gildart?

He held on to the ball half a dozen times when there was a good pass on during a break and then in the last play instead of taking the 2nd tackle , he flicks he forward?

He's way to slow for a winger/centre.

I don’t think anyone really believes he is. He’s a pawn being used against Brooks. Anything he does that is remotely good is going to get turned up to 11 in order for it to reflect poorly on Brooks.
It’s going both ways, you were saying during the week that everyone will turn on Madden by half time when they realise he is rubbish.

Madden has played 4 games in first grade including at least 1 from the bench. Let’s not destroy him with expectations because we want Brooks gone or Brooks to stay and we need him to fit our agenda.

Both sides of this discussion need to tone it down a bit.

Might have been.
It was a silly pass that Gildart wasn’t ready for. That’s where you need big outside backs getting yardage to set up for a last ditch shift later in the set. But alas we have our maligned seven taking hit ups. No wonder he wants out.

Watched the game a 2nd time, ratings below:

3 - Joe best player on the park playing with 1 arm. After his injury he just got on and hit harder and ran harder. If all our forwards played like him we would be a different pack.

2 - Tamou he cops it here but he actually was a leader on and off the park barking orders and running hard and hitting hard. The difference in Stefano play was noticeable as well. When Tamou was on we were easily the better team, he came off and Warriors made meters easily.

3 - Gildart/Toa. Pairing them as couldn’t split them.

Brooks I would have put in top 3 if he actually took control of the team in the last 10mins we didn’t and it was very costly. At the time was like now show everyone what you’re made of and his ball handling dried up. We needed someone to direct and control the team with inexperienced 1/6/9 + backs and forwards with 10mins on the goal line and a man advantage with a clearly tired Warriors team and he failed badly.

Laurie and Nofa have to be close to reserve grade if we actually had depth. They both are making very costly errors.

And had a dropsy deep on attack in second half. Maybe from marker but he lacks judgement, and hopefully will adjust quicker now for those simple mistakes. Needed one of Laurie or Simpkin to back him up with breaks as Brooks always does!

Yeah good point.
He was definitely chasing that first NRL try haha.
That last flick pass was beyond stupid.

I was impressed with Madden, I think he's more switched on than Brooks when running at the line.

But those saying Madden played better than Brooks are delusional.

Madden may be a better player than Brooks when he plays 150 games but right now he isn't.

There was plenty to like about Madden. It was a really good effort.

After watching it again and taking the emotion away from my 3-2-1,
I thought Gildart produced some brilliant running and elusiveness, made at least 3 tackle busts and would have got my vote but a couple of ill timed passes and brain explosions pushed him back but if he keeps up his competitive style he'll be a good fit with more NRL experience.
I thought right from the outset James Tamou led like a real captain, hit hard in D and got a meat pie and Musgrove is also finding some form, a bad handling error came at a crucial time.
Seyfarth is showing some mongrel, the 'Big Red' might be a surprise packet as he gets even bigger and stronger.
Madden showed some class considering lack if game time.

NM. Got to say my man To'a has got to stay and at several stages we had 4 ball players on the park and no indians, thats where we lost the game.
1. Bad Handling and
2. No big boppers to finish them off.
I'm unhappy with the loss but happy we starting to put in an effort.
