Titans are going hard at, and will get, Latrell.
He doesnt want to play for Tigers. He wont even keep an appointment for a discussion.
He wants a 'Top' team or he wants out of Sydney.
Arrow wants out of Titans. They are happy for him to go.
Broncos want a proper 5/8 and are shopping Milford around whilst they have tabled a very attractive offer for Walker.
Tigers want Latrell but accept they wont get him.
They dont want to pay 900K for Milford so are playing hardball with Broncos to pay some of his salary for next year until he proves his worth.
3 year deal will be offered with years 2 & 3 in the clubs favour.
I agree with other posters, the above wont happen unless there is news about Marshall that we don't know. (or Marshall plays at Hooker with Josh R, or Josh R is punted back to the dogs for a forward).
Signing Milford kind of makes a little sense to us. What we need is a hooker for this year, Forwards, Forwards, fullback, Forwards and a halves partner for Brooks in 2021 when Marshall retires.
We can't pay big bucks for a halves partner for Brooks. We have Josh R, who can play 5/8 but doesn't work with Brooks. We also have Luke Brooks, who as a halfback cannot manage or direct the team but has a great running game like a 5/8.
So moving Brooks to 5/8 and Milford to 7 would make some sense. Keeping Marshall as a reserve playmaker makes sense.
Yet it would only be around the 300K per season level that Milford makes sense. Ofcourse Buy PLAYERS when they are CHEAP! but Milford's form has tanked in the last 2 years.
Doubt this is anything but a roumer.
wrong, Milford is no 7, have you watched him without hunt for the last two years, when in form he's a dealy 6 like Benji, overburden with general play kicking and he's rubbish, brooks has a fantastic kicking game, just needs to find his voice. also saying brooks is good at running holes he should play 5/8 is ridiculous, cronk could run the ball hard doesn't mean had the skillset to be a silky 5/8.
I reckon that Brooks could carry more of a traditional five eighth role with ease, but why would you want to change this when he is already amongst the best halfbacks in the game. Would accept Milford as a subsidised second choice option for fullback.
Every time I watch Brooks I keep thinking he plays a lot like Mitchell Pearce. Runs hard, can do good kicks, etc. Yet every time we hear the comment below:
"brooks has a fantastic kicking game, just needs to find his voice.".
I like Brooks. But how many more seasons are we going to wait for him to find his voice. It's been over 6 seasons now with many coaches, heck JT rearranging the entire team to help Brooks find his voice. Take Brooks to karokie and see if that voice pops up, Otherwise accept the harsh reality:
Brooks has a good(not great) kicking game.
Brooks is great at running into holes.
Brooks is lousy at finding his voice
Brooks is not the best at marshalling a team around him and positioning people where they need to be.
Move Brooks to 5/8 and get a halfback who can marshall and position our team. His 'voice' will never come if it has not come by now.
