Screw half the fanbase aye ! . I find it funny that most old school / new school wests tigers / tigers fans talk about the most optimal solution is unity in sharing between the two. Yet dinosaur 75 plus geriatrics , who live in the north coast , so THEY DONT EVEN LIVE IN THE AREA!!!!!!!!! Talk about it all going 1 way . It’s beyond selfish and narcissistic to me .

Also there’s next to sweet FA upper end of town corporates in the south west . Maybe out narrellan , down Camden valley way there’s a few big businesses there , but really most upper end of town business don’t want to be associated with a team , which personifies lower socio economic . And as far as “wests” go , even used it as a coat of arms and rally cry . Thats an issue that will need to be resolved , and housing/ endless stepford wives , cookie cutter homes , has zero bearing on this fact .
I think the new city they’re taking about building should be looked at heavily by the club , and I’d have argued that we should have looked to have built a brand new stadium there , rather than fixing up C town .

I think you will be disappointed CC.

$110M gets you nothing especially given it's government funding. That means there needs to be a strategic business case raised and presented for consideration and approval etc - that is all included in the capital budget so by the time the consultants get it done they will chew through around $2M. Add in 2.5 to 3% per annum in CPI and that will reduce the buying power in real terms by around $10M. So by the time construction comes around we will be looking at $44M for LO and $55M for CAmbo.

I struggled to find something current, in real $ terms, that equates to what we are looking at. The closest I could find, that is publicly available, is the Queensland Government funding of a $62.78 million redevelopment of Browne Park (Rockhampton, QLD) to provide a fit-for-purpose regional facility.

Based on what it is costing the QLD governemnt in today's $ we are likely to see:

• Seating Capacity Upgrade:
  Replace a single grandstand with a three-level 3,500-seat grandstand featuring a roof with improved sightlines, new seating to meet current accessibility compliance (ramps/lifts).
• Facilities Modernisation:
  New player change rooms (M/F), recovery and medical facilities, referees’ rooms, and upgraded media/press facilities.
• Spectator Amenities:
  Improved food/beverage outlets, upgraded toilets, family-friendly zones.
• Technology & Safety:
  LED lighting to broadcast standard, upgraded big screens, improved PA/security systems.
• Partial Roof Structures:
  Roof coverage for parts of the redeveloped stand, but not full coverage across the stadium.

For $309M Penrith will end up with:

• New western stand including improved:
  • player facilities catering for both male and female sports
  • visitor amenities
  • food and beverage areas
  • grandstand seating.
• New eastern stand, including:
  • spectator amenities
  • food and beverage areas
  • grandstand seating.
• Refurbished and new stadium entries on the northern and western boundaries.
• Upgrades to the existing western training field to create:
  • a dedicated player warm-up area
  • an activation hub at the western entry to the stadium
  • additional event day car parking.

So when you look at it in the bigger picture for Wests Tigers the players and corporates will get much better facilities and there will be some improved seating, toilet facilities and disabled access to meet modern requirements along with better food delivery capabilities. The rest of the grounds will get some new lipstick.

I say it over and over. Drive along Camden Valley Way, starting at Leppington, all the way out to Camden. 20-25 years ago it was all bush. Now you have estates popping up everywhere. And it’s only expanding. Imagine it in another 25 years. Will go all the way out to the razorback and beyond.

The pressing issue is we need to show a genuine commitment to the region. When we’ve done the hard yards with respect actually playing a majority of home games out there, we will slowly but surely connect with what (in no time) will be a massive part of Sydney. I’m not against moving the team . I’m against c town the ground as it stands .
The issue is , maybe I’ve misunderstood you , and if so I apologise , but that’s the first time I’ve seen you admit the need for both sides and unity . I also think playing the majority of games there should . Key word , should , be the future . I’m just not convinced there’s enough local support both commercially and fan support to justify it .
I think at our heart , we are an inner west club basically Ashfield towards the city along the parra river .
After now really in 2 years, 50 years both wests and the wests tigers have found it really hard to gain traction . I mean I could be wrong it could simply be the team is shit . And the traction is there , just people don’t want to turn up to watch us lose the titans in 3 degrees at 6pm on a Sunday in the middle of July .
I’m just not convinced , and I think it would be stupid to move the club based on annecdotal evidence around growth , where there’s been no actual evidence that it’s true .
I look at the titans , and the abandonment of them now they’re winning the spoon and see a very similar communities between the south west and the Gold Coast .
