$50 Million reason Wests Tigers are prepared to quit Campbelltown.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the plans, but a small upgrade likely won't change the game day experience for fans.

The growth region thing is a false economy. They are bringing people from countries that have no concept of rugby league. The region has been growing for years, but you cannot see any statistical growth in crowds.

Relying on population growth via our immigration policies is unlikely to yield results. The fastest growing groups are Indian, Chinese and Nepalese. Minto is now Bengali/Bangladeshi and add Indians, Filipinos and Nepalis make up close to 50% according to the stats. The remainder...take out the females...take out those with other club allegiances...you haven't got as big a supporter base as people think. This will just continue and these migrants will not play rugby league and very few will support the game.

It's one of the reasons there has been zero traction for Magpies and now Wests Tigers. There is no growth for rugby league...just migration growth.
Wt

Minto/Glenfield/Macq Fields have very large population of Indians/Nepalese/Bengali and Chinese
but it does not stop West Tigers from doing weekly promotions, running Training clinics, do a weekly spot on C91.3??

Some interesting junior league numbers here...very surprised to see Gymea as the largest junior club in syd and 4 cronulla clubs featuring in the top 10...with penrith clubs the other 6.
Bulldogs junior numbers grown dramatically...group 6 slight increase but wests and balmain no growth

Right. So the plan is to hinge our junior and fan "growth" on these communities. Well...all I'll say is good luck and I hope it works out.

Can't wait to see the first Indian/Nepali/Bengali junior come through our system.

At the end of the day, the debate doesn’t matter anymore. The club is doing what it should have done years ago, and no amount of complaining will change it. There’s always going to detractors no matter they do.
Who’s complaining ? Geez you’re a dickhead sometimes … voicing concerns about the actual viability of a plan that’s failed for 50 years , for many reasons , is not “complaining” . It’s pragmatism . No amount of spinning shit to suit your agenda will change it .
I hate arguing with people like you because you’re deliberately obtuse . And dismiss context to suit your agenda . It’s so tiresome … and transparent

That's including girls teams my granddaughter plays for gymea they do alot of work U's6 has so many players

Crazy the mums at games just as bad as the dads if not worst

Lilyfield is a natural amphitheatre of sorts with the grandstand, hill, the properties at the south-south-eastern end, and even the fig trees at the northern end, assisting to enclose the arena. The ground is built into the topography nestled between Glover st at the top, and Mary St below. The grandstand is also above the field (you need to walk up stairs from the field to the dressing room).

Leumeah is totally opposite to that. For the most part, it's a flat piece of land with a couple of grand stands built on top of it. In winter, it's the coldest place on earth. It's a wind tunnel right through it.
Exactly bro . I’m glad they’re building stands at both ends . Hopefully they connect the roofs to enclose it and make it cauldron like . The cold is unbearable especially as the sun goes down on a Winters afternoon at say 5-6pm.
We don’t need both stadiums to be mirror images of each other . I think a more enclosed , more modern feeling stadium , will be far more enticing to the south west .

Our future. Growth area. No Chinese or Indians playing league yet? I'm shocked...truly truly shocked

So you’ve chosen to argue that no one is complaining by complaining? 🤨

Dont hold your breath on that...

Ever played football in Cooma or Blayney?? They are very cold places.

No you hinge your growth on been a marketable commodity who gets in communities and a promotes its brand gets involved in the community. There are areas in Campbelltown/Group 6
that have large population of rugby league players and supporters. It just needs to be managed better.

That’s a stupid argument. Cabramatta is well known for its large Vietnamese community yet is also one of the strongest clubs in the Parra junior league.

I mean there’s no real use continuing this as your fixed in your loyalty to the Balmain patch - but look at the juniors who’ve progressed to the NRL during recent times from each area.

And given the skyrocketing property prices in the inner west, what will the demographic look like in a decade. I’m thinking Newington & Trinity won’t be short of silver spoon local lads for their respective 1st XVs (to go with the scholarship boys they yank out of the south-west 🤣)

That’s it. It’s not just about juniors, it’s pushing our brand. Making new fans, members etc. Ignoring an area the size of it has been negligent for far too long.

Football in Cooma and Blayney and Portland don't expect 15-20k to turn up to games.

Leumeah Stadium is a wind tunnel, and there isn't much in terms of a buffer off the highlands. It's not a great place to watch footy after 4pm on a winters day. It needs to be enclosed on all sides.
