FOUR premierships, the Kangaroos, NSW Origin and City Origin. Tim Sheens has coached the lot. Now the Tigers legend will set a new all-time benchmark - 600 NRL games.
Champion Tigers coach Sheens will become the first NRL coach to reach the milestone of 600 games at the helm when Wests Tigers host the Sydney Roosters at Campbelltown on Sunday.
In a distinguished career punctuated by four premierships - three with the Canberra Raiders and one with Wests Tigers in 2005 - there are few mountains Sheens has been unable to conquer.
An oracle of information on rugby league, Sheens is happy to talk football anytime, anywhere. And this is one of the great secrets of his success.
A genius man-manager who always has time for his players, Sheens has a solid track record of developing talented footballers into quality young men.
He's coached Australia, NSW at Origin level and City Origin, with the one blemish on his coaching record coming during a difficult stint at the North Queensland Cowboys from 1997 to 2001.
The champion coach will be the first man ever to reach 600 NRL games, with fellow current coaches Wayne Bennett (587) and Brian Smith (532) having also surpassed the 500-game milestone.
Rounding out the illustrious list of the top five all-time coaches in terms of games at the helm, Warren Ryan has 415 games and Bob Fulton has 405.
All coaches in the top five, except for Smith, have won multiple premierships.

Someone with Sheens' experience & longevity in the game will always find it impossible to do things someone elses way, when you at the ''top'' so to speak, for so long….taking orders & directions all of a sudden doesnt coome easily.
For all the 'good' he's done for this club, recruitment, junior development etc,....it all mean bugger all really if at the end of the day you cant get the team to the ultimate goal regularly...a shot at the title.
Glad when he and all his influence is gone....will be some time yet though imo

I didn't know I had repeated myself, sorry about that and thanks for bringing it to my attention. If what you said is true of course. Which I'm sure it must be because you said it and I'm a really nice person and believe everything that anyone tells me. Having had a long chat with Mr.Sheens some time ago I do like him as a person.
