6th or 7th?

We could come 4th or 5th this year. But there's a good chance of us coming 6th or 7th.

For the sake of argument - Wouldn't we rather play Manly away than Brisbane?

And - is Manly's home final destined to be at the SFS or Brookie?

Our final game is on Sat night after NQ v NZ and StG v Pen BUT before Bris v Manly…

WHAT DO WE DO?
WHO ARE WE GOING FOR?

With the two games we have left we shouldn't finish any lower than 5th to be honest.

However for arguments sake, yes I would prefer to play Manly - the game would be at the SFS or ANZ I believe, Brookie will not be an option.

We have a pretty good record against the Eagles in more recent time I think, so I would be quietly confident of knocking them over.

Really cant see us dropping a game in the next two weeks, the Gold Coast under strength and playing against a form team with plenty to play for on a monday night at Cambo are no chance and the Sharks although usually a pretty gritty side will be outclassed by a team that is playing for very high stakes. So really its 4th or 5th and that will protect us from the big three in week one of the semi finals

It tough the draw and Finals system… I think the key is to avoid Melbourne so presuming they win the first week of the finals, if your an even number, you will meet them in the Preliminary with all results going to plan.

Finish 5th and you have a trip across the Tasman and the likelyhood of another trip to Queensland the following week. Thats alot of air time, so I'm more inclined to finish 6th or 7th and take my chances.

Manly will have to choose between SFS or ANZ for thier Home Final. Brookvale doesnt suit the criteria.

the only concern I see is we have a short turn around between gold coast and cronulla (MOnday and then Saturday) but when we play cronulla on the last weeked cowboys play warriors so if we win all games we cant go lower then 5th

really want to finish 4th or 5th

if we finish 6th we'll play brisbane in brisbane whilst saints could finish 7th and play manly at the sfs, which will basically be a saints home game. saints would be a massive massive chance and we'd likely be the casualties

we'll come 4th if:

Round 25

Sunday - Dragons beat warriors

Round 26

Saturday - Warriors beat Cowboys

and we win both our games, for and against wont come into it and no other results matter. that would then likely see us play saints in 4th v 5th

I think we will finish 4th.

Saints to beat Warriors this week then Warriors to beat Cowboys in the last round.

St George to wing their last 2 games.

First round of semis

Melbourne verses Souths

Manly verses Cowboys

Broncos verses Warriors

WT verses St George

Souths and Cowboys to drop out after the first week.

I think it is likely that warriors will drop one of the final 2 games and we will run past cowboys on for and against anyway, given who we play in the last 2 games.

The biggest drama in finishing 7th as opposed to 6th is that if you lose you are gone, at least at 6th, you have 2 have at least one other result go against you, and lets face it, it has to be an upset.

If we do drop one, i definately want to finish 6th.

I would rather play manly than Bris but I foresee us playing the warriors after we finish 5th and they 4th.

Have no fear Spartan Saints will beat the Warriors this weekend
Don't put the house on it but I am very confident
Have faith Brother we will finish fourth if we win both games

I hope so Happy, But im not as confident as you when I take recent form into account….

This will make me a happy Tiger and my Old man a happy Dragon.

Don't want to finish 6th, unlucky position, ask the Warriors and Dragons to name a few. I would rather go out losing two games than one game because 7th or 8th had a win - in this comp it is very possible. Go Tigers!

6th isn't too bad. They have the highest win/loss record in week 1 out of teams 5-8 since we adopted the McIntyre system. However the Dragons are the only team to make the grand final from 6th (in 1999). The Cowboys and Eels (2005 and 2009 respectively) are the only other teams from outside the top 4 to make the grand final under the McIntyre system, but none of the 3 won it. So I guess the stats and history say if we are going to win the comp we need to make the top 4.

6th, without doubt is much better. Simply because if you lose, if results go your way you get a second chance. Getting a questionable easier game in 7th doesnt make up the difference.
