A bit of news

Hey guys, a mutual friend knows the Coaching Staff really well and caught up with them just before Christmas, and whilst he didn't give me any earth shattering news here's what I got. Apologies if it's old news
* Koro has visa issues and has to head home to Fiji until they're sorted.
* Simona likely to miss first few weeks
* Teddy and Sironen ultra impressive at training
* Braith will get first crack at 5/8
* BMM seems lazy and if he doesn't aim up this year will be freed to leave
As I said besides the Koro news being a concern not much but Potter very impressed and excited for 2014 he thinks well have a positive season

Thanks for the info tiga4eva.
BMM has always seemed lazy another Keebra park dud taking the place of a local.
Good news on Sirro and Teddy i feel both are in for a big year in 2014.

* BMM should hurry up and grow up!!!..I can see him being another Fifita if he doesn't crack it with the WT - shame!
* It was obvious once Moltz broke down that Braith will get first crack at 5/8…I just hope he works well with Brooks and give him leadership and confidence.
* I predict big things from Sirro this year!....would not surprise to see him back at 5/8 if Anasta flops.

Great to hear about Sironen and Tedesco. I feel that those two especially along with Farah and Anasta can help make the transition for Brooks so much easier. Anasta and Farah are a given. The halves and the hooker will touch the ball more then anyone else. But the fullback being an extra half and Sironen as a ball-running option on the fringe can take so much pressure off the halves in the modern game.

Simona we all knew about

Disappointing about Koro but I thought he would find himself behind Richards and Nofo at the start of the season anyway. Hopefully this issue will be addressed soon enough.

The bit about BMM is very disappointing to hear. Only he is holding himself back. Just maybe the Tigers aren't the club for him.

*** BMM seems lazy and if he doesn't aim up this year will be freed to leave**

disappointing, thought he was really coming along at the end of last year.

i feel he could be another fifita. but he has the potential to be that 'x-factor' at the club in 2014 amongst the forwards. give em a bit more spark.

Interesting re:Koro as the staff thought he'd be unlikely to play ahead of Simona Lawrence Nofoaluma and Richards. I also thought BMM started to shine at the back end of 2013 but I think his application is lacking.

I remember Greg Lenton from Keebra saying that next to Benji, BMM is the most naturally gifted player to come through that system. It's a shame he hasn't managed to put in the hard work needed to realise his obvious potential. Still, maybe Potter and Co. can get his attitude turned around this year.

That's a surprise & a shame about BMM. He was making great progress towards the end of the season especially playing at lock. Hope he can turn it around.

Be interesting to see everyone's new playing weight for 2014, although it's still prob a bit early for that. Hopefully Siro, Sue & Blair pack on a few extra kgs.

I really hope BMM pulls his finger out. He has all the potential in the world but in the 3 or 4 seasons he's been around top grade, he's never been a consistent performer / looks like cementing his spot in the squad. When he's at his peak, he is super dangerous and is brilliant to watch, but unfortunately it's way too frequent.

Excited to see Teddy next year. I think he could really step it up a gear. He showed some brilliant glimpses of his ability towards the back end of 2013, and was in the Top 3 in many of those games.

I'm happy for Braith to start at 6 to bring some experience with Farah. With Teddy only having a handful of games under his belt, we'd have a very inexperienced spine without him there. In saying that, I'm a big Blake Austin fan and hope he shows enough to put pressure on the halves to perform and is playing well enough to crack first grade.

Regarding BMM, didn't he suffer a serious leg injury in the RLWC2013?, is it his rehab that is being questioned?.

I think it's his general attitude and application to training

Dissappointed Anasta is a lock in for the start of the season,Austin should at least get a chance to show his wares,I don't want to see a whole year wasted with Braith picked every week regardless of form.

i seriously doubt potter is even considering this. anasta knows he's got a couple of weeks before austin replaces him.

last year mick was severely hamstrung by the 2nd tier salary cap and when permitted he debuted browns and brooks.

dont be..Anasta is a seasoned veteran who's best position is 5/8\. its very logical he be given first shot to partner the rookie half to provide leadership and experience in the halves….if he doesn't work out the Potter will look at his other options....including Sirro at 5/8.

Not an expert with Visas , why would Koroibete now have an issue when he hasn't previously had an issue ??

Anasta was probably always going to be No 1 choice , but I reckon Potter will have put him on notice if he doesn't perform

BMM is seemingly to me becoming a fair weather player

He has let himself down often and his work ethic on field can be questionable

Usually players who don't put the work in pre season always seem to have injury concerns and BMM seems to fit that mould

It is a real shame because along with Simon Dwyer,Luke O'Donnell and Ellis BMM has the potential to be one of the few second rowers we have had who can compete with all areas of the top second rowers with size ,speed ,defensive oomph ,work ethic , lateral movement and run good lines

Now, now Snake, no need for that.

Could be Koro did not renew travel status on his visa. Assuming he would have permanent residence status, he can stay here perpetually, however, the travel component only lasts for five years.

Normally it would just be a case of getting another one rubber stamped here, however, if he let it lapse it makes the process a lot more complicated when done offshore, and he would not be allowed to re-enter AUS until he gets a new one.
