Would you cop a spoon if it meant the removal of the coach/dictator/despot/supercoach/man who won 3 comps with half a NSW side, half a Qld side and a few NZ reps whilst over the cap ?

Put me in the yes camp

I cannot wait for him to pack his clipboard up and get back to Magnetic Island. The only one probably not in the same boat is Mrs supercoach who probably lives in peace up there.

I fear it is the only way he will be replaced. 15th would have some on here (and no doubt some of those eating prawn sandwiches and canapes on the retention committee) telling us all how it could have been worse and that Parramatta/Cumberland/Glebe/Annandale/Newtown all had worse seasons than us

You seem to forget he had to develop a lot of the talent at Canberra

Guys like Daley,Stuart,Lazarus , Clyde ,Wiki ,Mullins,Nagas ,Noa Nandruku,Croker ,Furner ,Payten ,Pongia and Lomax were bought to the club as talent only Sheens had to mould the talent into a cohesive unit and make them better players

Being talented is easy getting the best from the talent and maintaining it is the hard thing

Please my grandmother on my mum's side could have moulded that lot into a cohesive unit … and she is long dead.

Next thing you will say is he had to mould thurston, slater, inglis, cronk & co into a cohesive unit to overcome the might of the Kumuls and France

You'd like the Tigers to get the Wooden Spoon to justify your 'personal' point of view…

Maybe your grandmother on your mums side shouldve whacked you harder with her wooden spoon!

Suppporters deathriding their own club. Class.
No doubt one of the few who had a hissy fit when Sheens called them 'so-called' supporters.

Coaching is a results based business. Results over a number of seasons or at a minimum whole seasons. Sheens has won as you say 4 comps, up there with the greats.
But with us he has just finished top 4 in consecutive years, won a comp and created a system where we have a very steady flow of top class players entering the system every year, and have a stack of very promising players who look destined to play NRL. The pathways to our club is probably the best thing happening at our club at the moment.
All of the above should be over written by a poor March.

Selections, tactics and so forth are subjective, people who dont like Sheens' view on that wait every year till we lose a few games and stupidly call for his head.

I dont agree with everything Sheens does, but hoping we run last so we can finally sack a coach who has been successful is mind boggling.

x2.

Personally , I'd like him to leave at the end of the year and see how a different coach would do things with the team.
Prefer we finish first than last though.

Pete tell me which of these blokes was an established star before he joined the Raiders

Actually Pete name one

It is not easy picking talent Most of these guys when they get to this level are pretty equal It all comes down to work ethic and drive to succeed

You sit them down and they all say the same thing I want to be this or that or I want to achieve this or that

So how did Sheens manage to get all of these great players and not sign a whole heap of coulda and shoulda beens and the same goes for Bennett ????

Sheens won't be going anywhere spoon or no spoon and I am happy about that.
His bringing the young talent through and mixing in some old heads that will make us a force for many years to come. Injuries and suspensions have not been kind to us otherwise it would have been a different story.

Seriously, why bother having a poll when you're a closed book on the matter?? Even with the no option you can't resist having a crack. This forum is awesome when people discuss/argue etc their POVs; it is less effective when people when people have axes to grind and are blind to anything that doesn't agree with that.

Despot? Dictator? Please… He's an NRL coach. You don't like him? Okay not a problem - tell us what he's doing wrong and what he can do differently.

We should try and lure someone like Bennett, I hear he is totally open to fan input and doesn't crack a sook when things don't go his way.

True story.

Sheens for to long has had the WT at his mercy with the threat of if he goes so will Benji, or his other favorites. Wish they realize that all coaches call this bluff. If it were up to me I'd sign who I wanted and bye bye big boy. No get out clauses in any contacts.

Who cares what they say publicly ? TBH i stopped listening to what they say in about 1992 when I realised they were all liars. They could be asked about the weekend's game against the Warilla Wombats who are 27th in a 16 team comp in Group 127 and they would trot out the same rubbish `Warilla are a good side and have some good players so we will really have to be on our game to beat them and if we don't turn up ready to play we will get beaten'.

Much the same as they all say `Paul Langmack/Alan Jones/Jason taylor/Phil Economides is one of the best coaches I have ever worked under'. Given they have previously worked under amateur coaches until NRL and once in the NRL they may only ever be coached by 2 or 3 `one of the best' is not saying much is it.

He is stale, his threats carry no threat, his messages have no message and his tatics were out of date by April 2006\. Throw in his garbage benches and we have a complete myth.

Tell me what happened in 2010 when the great man was told to drop his favourite all time player by the CEO because the other senior players had gone to the CEO and wanted said player dropped. Or is that just fanciful internet dreaming by me ?

25 posts, more than half of them putting the boot into the coach and 1 warning to go with it. It's clear what your agenda on here is.

So how is this thread allowed to dribble on whilst the funny, take-the-piss pro-Sheens thread (grassy knoll) flushed?!

Why is he listening, reading what fans supporters say?
Ive followed this team in its forms since '70, granted the net has changed a lot of things in the last 10 years or so….but in that time Ive never heard ANY coach bag those that follow his boys.....that was absolutely pathetic and shows he is not as professional as some think

Start listening to the fans and next thing you'll be sitting with them.

On topic, a spoon wont force Sheens to leave….he has too much control here, he is an elder statesman in the game and as such is afforded some leeway rightly or wrongly, he goes on his terms - which is precisely the problem here
