A poll for Col: Who should coach WTs?

Bring back Steve Folkes to toughen them up.

We need some one to deliver tough love and drop underperformers. :crazy :crazy :sign:

You know Steve Folkes is at the Dragons now as an assistent? Look how they're going. The hype around him on this forum over the yrs has been over the top.

Completely agree. I doubt Folkes is anywhere near the all knowing seer that he gets credit for being.

Maybe the title of the topic should be:

Who **would** coach WT's… :unamused:

I think you're joking but most coaches would jump at the opportunity. It might be hard to get Bellamy and Bennet but most other coaches assuming they don't have a coaching job would beg for the opportunity.

Yep, Steve I was joking, like you I just want them to win.
Ugly, controversial or not, just damn win. 😛ray:

So much potential, just not happening. So frustrating. :brick:
I do think that if they lose today, the season will begin to slip away.

Taylor and his defensive palava isn't exactly working out is it. Honestly I think one of his biggest problems has been that he spoke so much palava.

To top it off though we've gone backwards and at a rapid rate with some decent players in the squad. I'm not sure that Taylor has it in him to be a first grade coach at this club.

I don't care who's coach as long as Milone never plays first grade again, can't tackle, too slow, can't read the play and too many errors. As for the team, we just don't have the cattle upfront.. can't compete, The Raiders backs looked bigger than our forwards tonight. Can't do nothing with this team.. Long season ahead..

We will struggle to retain many of our young backs without a decent forward back.. No future for any coach at our club given the status quo..

Ivan Cleary. Wish David Gillespe could be defensive coach.
I would like to see NO MORE former Wests or Balmain players as coaches.

Agree with Cleary on another note Inthink Gillespe played for Wests at one stage of his career.

more likely to get Ivan Henjack, why would Cleary wanna come here?

I don't get the Cleary love, he's achieved very little with very good squads for almost all of his career.

Hardly the sort of coach you want with a squad that would arguably be the worst he's ever had.

Folkes for me - tough, smart, professional, good defensive brain, knows how to make players understand and function in set structures.

Folkes? The game has well and truly passed him by… He should never be a head coach again. You may as well bring back john long if you're going to bring back someone who's out of touch.

Cleary's two main achievements -
Getting warriors to grandfinal in 2011
Getting the injury-ravaged panthers to a prelim final in 2014

I thought folkes would have been a good choice 6 or 7 years ago but not now. Don't think Cleary will be the right fit either. I voted for Payten but I've had a rethink this team needs a hard man.Toovey for coach!!!!
