Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Well, we have one right here in Australia. It's called Triple M.
A "Rock" radio station that doesn't play Hendrix?

Middle of the day mate. They do play Hendrix, Beatles, Doors, etc… it's just not on common rotation, and usually it's reserved for "Classiscs" or when they pick a year to remember.

We have it playing on the radio pretty much all day at work, and they NEVER play any Hendrix. They play Zeppelin, occasionally The Doors. As for The Beatles, their playlist is pretty much limited to Come Together and sometimes Revolution.
I have no idea if they play Jimi at night and to be honest I don't care. It's pathetic that he is not a regular feature in their daytime playlist. Meanwhile, there's saturation coverage of '90s Rock such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters.

I did that. Doesn't work when you're just one voice. But they should not have to be told to play Jimi.

Hendrix is arguably the greatest guitarist and he can't get any air time on a station that prides themselves on playing rock music. I rarely listen to commercial radio, but my workmate has Triple M on and I rarely ever hear Hendrix playing. I hear "All Along The Watchtower" playing once in a blue moon but that's about it.
Metallica have a thousand albums and they play Enter Sandman everyday but won't play anything they did prior to 1990, meanwhile they essentially play the Foo Fighters greatest hits three times a day.

I've got loads of mp3s mate. But when you are working in a small office with other people it's not really an option.
Do yourself a favour and turn the radio off….

Probably because Hendrix isn't all that popular these days. Certainly not compared to the other artists you mention anyway. Having said that it pretty much is Dave Grohl FM these days.
