Nah, lets just blame the ref and claim there was a conspiracy from the outset of the tournament to make sure the Aussies lost it.

Sorry boys, but I get no joy from any team beating Australia.
Congratulations to them if you like, but to be honest I didn't think they even went that well - scraping home against a team without half their top players who were being coached by someone who doesn't believe in front rowers plus being refereed by an Englishman!
All you Kiwis can go and enjoy yourselves now.

I'm not a Kiwi and I enjoyed the game for what it was. The Kiwi's played Rugby League how it should be played. Fast, aggressive, skillfully and with determination.

Lay off the Kool-aid.

Australia lost - that's what not to enjoy.
The Germans fought pretty good in WW2 but I wasn't cheering them to a win.

CK get over it pal.We lost it happens.I am fierecely a proud Aussie myself(and family fought the germans in ww2 in the Australian army)but the game of rugby league does get stronger with a kiwi win and the strong performance shown by the poms and especially the Samoans.If it makes you feel any better we did field a second strength team so tell yourself that all off season to cheer up a little bit.Congrats to the kiwis and also the poms and Samoans who acquitted themselves very well.

Johnson has one thing in his game that makes him a far better and more consistent player. Control.

He knows when to do the flashy stuff and when to stick to the game plan and keep it simple.

Benji never learnt this. We saw glimpses, but he could never find consistency and the right mix which SJ does.

Do you guys seriously think the Kiwis would be thinking ' Gee it would be good for rugby to see the All Blacks lose more often?'

Or,for that matter, any other nation think similarly?

no one is asking cameron smith, GI and cronk to throw a party celebrating the loss.

but its understandable for people trying to take a neutral perspective of international rugby league, to see that australia losing is usually good for RL.

as a supporter of the All Blacks, i want them to continue to dominate. But the difference there is ive been through YEARS of being made fun of for being 'chokers' in world cups having only won one RUWC before the 2011 one.

Mate , your obviously a Kiwi and I have no problem with you supporting your country - as I do mine.
My problem is with some of my nancy boy countrymen who are happy to accept a loss.
Unlike you hating a Kiwi loss they are happy Australia lost.
Go figure.

Sheens still thinks it's '05\. Even in the test he's playing back rowers as props, the best hooker in the game at lock, a halfback at hooker. I actually love watching tests that the Aussies play now just to try and work out who's playing where.

You're right though TM. Sheens made Benji, and ruined him. Benji needed someone to take him to the next level and learn control. Sheens can coach and is good at getting the best out of young guys, but once he gets them there he doesn't know how to make them better and stick to basics when need be.

Thank you NZ for reminding us how great our game can be.

As for SJ, sure he is a great player, but playing behind that pack a reserve-grader would look good. Any pack that boasts having Taupau and Eastwood on the bench has to be respected (here's a thought: how good would it be if we had Eastwood playing for the Tigers)!

I just wish every game was as good as the 4 Nations Final. I personally would never whinge about who won or lost if we could see this quality every time.

How many of us are missing our footy already?

A few points….
The Kiwis played strongly all tournament and deserved the title.
It was great to see them throwing the ball around and playing confidently.
It was also great for international footy that an Australian side missing so many stars was not able to win....10 years ago our third grade side would have won. In this tournament our "b" side was beaten twice by NZ.
The poms still disappoint.
The young Australian rookies had a mixed tournament but overall I thought they played bravely and held their heads up. They will become even better with continued exposure in SOO next year.
Big Sam Thaiday's Kangaroo career is fast coming to an end...he struggles to keep up.
Daly Cherry Evans is a brilliant player who, once he earns the confidence of those around him, will leave a huge legacy in this game.
GI is a great fullback in the making, but at this level, he still does not tie Slaters bootlaces.
The Tigers boys had a good tournament.
