...a word on Beau

The stint in the back row interchange seems to have stepped his game up alot.

His lack of pace worries me but his straightening of the attack when we get lost on kick return sets is heartening and desperatley needed

He is going ok. Hope he doesn't choke come finals like he did last year.

Mate, rough call.

He probably would have been bundled into touch if he had have been tackled, with momentum and all.

If that kick he puts in hooks in field further than it did, Fitzhenry would have become the most unlikely of Semi Final heroes and taken us into the grand final.

Just thought he was a bit off all finals series…a bit overwhelmed maybe. Hopefully that experience holds him in good stead this year. Nothing against the guy and I agree with most of the commentary and sentiment in this thread. But he will need to lift again come finals time.

Happy to give credit where it is due, Beau knows how to play wing very well. What's the story with the dandruff Happy???

Well I'm guessing Cunno but every time he scores he rubs his head
I thought he was reminding his girlfriend that he had run out of dandruff shampoo thats all

"Head and Shoulders" above the rest maybe.

HaHaHa Good one PP But thats true he has been head and shoulders above many wingers lately

He seemed to really have turned the corner after we smashed the warriors he made two one on one try saving tackles on big Manu, every since then he has played out of his skin, good to see he has really peaked this season.

Good post. I've certainly not been his biggest fan in the past but his game has improved out of sight. His passion for the Tigers was never in doubt and he's always the first in to congratulate his team mates. Wouldn't swap him for any other winger at he moment.

I think Beau is a competent winger, and happens to be in career best form at the moment.

I personally think his true value is the way he lifts team morale and the way he moves around the place. No doubt you will have noticed that
a) He ALWAYS gets to a tryscorer and congratulates, revs up the boys and does a lot of talking
b) He runs the celebrations after the game
c) He doesn't mind laughing at himself
d) He has never claimed to be the best, but only the best he can be.

It is for the reasons that I think his is of value.

I think the best indication of how well he is going is the turn around on here, people early on in the year were in 2 camps, the he has loads of passion therefore is worth his spot in the team and the other camp which did not want him at all.
Now everyone is rightfully praising his form, his finish last night was top draw and is metres from dummy half followed by a quick play the ball are very effective, they may not look as good as Utai charges but they are jsut as effective at getting us going.

I think his rep copped a hammering over the off season due to his kick against Saints in the final, coupled with the tall poppy nature of his media profile, relentless good form as certainly restored that.

I remember shaking my head & smiling after that game and wondering just how one of the smaller wingers in the comp had kept the beast in check. There'd probably be 30kg's difference there straight up before you take the way manu runs at the opposition.

Beau's been on fire recently. Anybody else fancy him at fullback for 2012? May have been mentioned before but im new to the board.

Beau's try in the corner was spectacular and his form over the past month has been fantastic. He's also been showing tremendous passion and intensity with or without the ball which has really helped lift his team mates at various times when they need it.

Have to admit that in the past I always held my breath when Beau was involved, but at the moment I now find myself screaming "Go Beau"!!

He played a bit of Fullback for a while over past few seasons
missed a few bombs and lost confidence one bomb of which cost us a game
I like the idea Wigan Welcome to the Forum
If you want to loan us Pat Richards back for about 6 weeks feel free

Haha. We'll loan you paddy back if we can have either lend lawrence or ayshford for the play offs as we're currently struggling in the 3/4s. Joel Tomkins is doing a good job but now Hoffmans heading back to the storm we could do with joel back in 2nd row. Also wouldn't of minded Mark Flanagan back after seeing him in the NRL last season

Saying that. If paddy left we'd be screwed out on the left wing without him haha.

The thing that sticks in my mind about Beau's personal habits is how his girlfriend said on the footy show that he insists on giving her bottom a kiss before he goes to sleep at night, bahahahaha what a crack up I am still laughing typing this- won't mention anything about dandruff at this point

Yes Beau is playing very well at the moment and i consider him a solid 1st grade winger but to say he is in the top 6 in the NRL???
This bias on this board is hilarious to read sometimes. Do you guys watch any other games??
I rate Beau and am happy to keep him but off the top of my head other wingers running around in the NRL that would push him out of the top 6 -
Manu Vatuvei
Akuila Uate
Brett Morris
Nathan Merritt
Darius Boyd/Jason Nightingale
Jharal Yow Yeh
Michael Gordon
Luke Burt
Blake Ferguson
William Hopoate
Tony Williams

The big difference I see is that last year the halves were throwing passes that Beau was either a metre in front of or a metre behind.

Lately he has been in good position for almost every pass and kick, so it is either something he has worked on or our halves just have better radars!

Last year I believe Beau caught a pass whilst standing in touch, which is diabolical.
