Oh please. You're basically saying that unless you meet someone with a high profile, its arrogant to not like them cos you don't know them. By your logic i'm assuming that you like every player, every actor, every politician cos you haven't met them and for all you know could be nice in real life.

jirskyr, with all due respect, i think the issue boils down to him a Tigers player. I will presume if we were talking about a player from another club, i.e. Ennis, Hodges, Thiaday etc, you probably wouldn't have gotten so quite on the defensive.

It really is a 12 yr old mentality to say that unless you've had first hand experience with someone that its wrong to dislike them. Hobbo, i'm guessing you like every musician, politician, player and actor in the world then?

As i said in my last post, its not the fact that i dislike someone i haven't met that's the issue. Its the fact that its a Tigers player that has people so much on the defensive.

If this were a thread about Ennis, Hodges, Matai, Slater or any other loathed league player, do you think there would have been the reactions there have been?

Forum persona's are quite different to someone's media persona btw.

If you don't, then you criticizing me for not liking someone i don't know would make you what is known as a hypocrite.

As i said in my last post, its not the fact that i dislike someone i haven't met that's the issue. Its the fact that its a Tigers player.

I've met Woods three or four times and even sat with him with my son and never found him anything but friendly and polite. Yes, I would say he is confident in himself, but at this level, having played for NSW/Australia, if you haven't got the confidence, you lack to drive to succeed!
I try to reserve judgement on anyone be they unknown personally or not to me until I have enough information to make an informed judgement, not just believe everything that is fabricated for the media and selling stories!
If, in your opinion that makes me a hypocrite, so be it, that's your opinion!

Mountains out of mole hills. Seriously guys, he is entitled to his opinion. There have been some Tigers players I haven't been particularly keen on in the past either. We don't have to love them all, but we support them all when they run out in our colours.

But seriously, the Kid is so far a clean skin (touch wood) and I think part and parcel is how he conducts himself -If a little over confidence is the worst of him, then he has a pretty bright future as an ambassador of the game.

He can't be too bad considering this is the first time I've heard about it. Most 23 year olds are still DHs at times, experience usually brings them down to earth.
