I know you like to believe that this is the case, but if you think that the Bulldogs will remain a 'basketcase' for any great length of time, then you are deluded. Besides that, I'm sick of all the constant whinging on here re Woods/Tedesco and their decision to leave. Time to move on.

You can take comfort in the fact that your whingeing about what others choose to **whinge about** is equally tiresome.

Fixed! Please continue with your neg fest if it makes you feel better.

I haven't been whingeing about them. I just think it's pointless you repeatedly telling people to stop being negative towards them. It will have no effect and it just generates circular squabbles.

See this is what I don't get. It's alright for others to go on and on and on endlessly with the same old negative comments about these players, but it's not alright for me to make a few comments about how tiresome it is having to read the same stuff over and over? You're right though it is pointless - the whole thing is pointless!

Ok if you don't get it I'll explain it. Some of the people you are complaining about have been posting with the same attitudes for years - literally years. The topics change but the attitudes do not. You've been here less than a month and you're trying to remodel the discussion to suit what you want to read (and don't want to read). It will not happen. The attitudes will not change and so neither will the content. It's not a matter of whether or not "it's alright" for them to bang on with the same old rubbish, it's going to happen regardless. That's just what you get on forums. They are communities and you just have to get used to them over time and learn to filter out the noise. You adapt to forums, they don't adapt to you.

Glad im not the only one to notice this. There seems to be influx of new posters joining and trying to dictate to the rest of what we can and cannot say. Bit of a hide tbh.

Back on topic - shocking form for a Chairman to be addressing the players directly in the sheds post match.

It was shortly after Penrith similarly rubbed Tigers nose in the dirt that JT got his nose rubbed in the dirt - Dessie maybe in for a rude shock.

Pointless? Perhaps. Irrelevant? No, which is why it's a valid topic for reasons why I already pointed out.

After the way Woods has treated the club and it's fans, some will take great pleasure in the situation the Dogs find themselves in now as Woods will be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. As we've seen, salary cap dramas are not fixed overnight and Dogs are in a world of hurt for at least a year or two, perhaps longer. Everything that Woods has quoted he's leaving for, Wests currently have on the Dogs. He's leaving for stability, we've just signed a coach for three and a half years, we've rebuilt our squad in the space of one season. The Dogs have resigned their coach for two additional years and are already calling for his head, are heading into some ordinary salary cap issues and have moved on one of their favourite sons for speculative signings.

Maybe the Dogs will bounce back quickly. They're a professional outfit and they don't tolerate underperformance. However, it is looking like things will get worse before they get better.

Getting back to the subject..Woods is one of these lucky people who can say things that make him look a utter goose, but because of a server lack of grey matter upstairs its all water off a ducks back and he will keep doing it. He doesn't seem to be concerned he is as smart as a house brick, but I guess he is getting a million a year for the next four seasons so he doesn't have to be smart

After his football life is over he will probably have the skill set to sell cars or be a pollie

You have to be a great liar to be a car salesman or a politician. Something Woods definitely isn't. Contradicts himself unlike anyone i've ever seen.

Customer: "This VE has done 120,000kms, has it stretched the timing chain yet?"

Woods: *Shrugs* "Ummmm ahhhh It is what it is, ahhhhh I just want to sell cars and have a feed with the missus."

I liked Woodsey's comments on 360 this week when he and Graham were asked for their highlights and disappointments of the season thus far…

Woodsey..Highlight..Origin 1..Lowlight..Wests Tigers position on the ladder...

Well it really depends who your chairman is - who the real powerbroker is at the club. I would not at all be surprised if chairpersons like Nick Pappas or Nick Politis directly addressed players in the sheds, they've been around far longer than the current coaches. I would be surprised if Marina Go assumed to dismiss Cleary to do what Ray Dib did.

Different clubs have different constitutions, right? So what staff can and cannot do will be different even if they have the same job title.

I'd be shocked if many people at all could name the current Rabbitoh and Roosters CEOs (Blake Solly and Joe Kelly resp.).

That's a fair point.
That said, I tend to consider the sheds, training pitch and so forth as the coach's territory - so Des's domain. If he's all good with Dib coming in to address the team, then no worries. But if he's pulled rank to have a dig at everyone, then that's fairly emasculating IMO.
I guess it depends on the exact circumstances, as well as what was said. Hard to trust Hooper on either point.

thought you'd invented a new saying there; when i first read it i missed the "r"

I agree with you that the coach's authority should be sacrosanct, but really what position could someone like Dessie or Trent Robinson take when it's known to all that Ray Dib and Uncle Nick are the ones signing the cheques?

What I personally feel is the huge mistake, if Ray Dib really did step over the coach to address the players, he only just extended the coach a few months ago. If you are the true powerbroker and you rubber-stamped a coach extension, you cannot then go and erode his authority within a few weeks, that's just setting yourself up to fail.

Yep, seems to be a lot of ad hoc decisions going on over there. Long may it continue.

Some of the media are leaving us alone and focusing on the Dogs now.
The Lurker suggesting that the Tigers are a top 8 chance next year but the Dogs are no chance. He referred to them as 'rabble' and very unhappy.

Gotta laugh.

Dogs are headed for a full implosion IMO.
Have 5 international forwards..so they sign another one…are desperate for a playmaking half or five eighth, and they sign Foran,a ball runner...need speed out wide and they sign nobody.
Des' strategy is more of the same..which clearly aint working
Interesting times ahead...

Yeah but Woods isn't captain of the Dogs, so he really can hide in the background sucking his thumb. Also there's a TON of superstar characters there, so he's more part of an All-Star cast rather than the face of the club.

He'll still look like an idiot, which is good enough for me. If the Dogs struggle early on next year, the pressure on Des will be off the chart, and they will be in the headlines. The very reason Woods says he's leaving us.
