My personal opinion is that Woods, along with the other two wanted a miracle cure to everything, never really stopping to consider how much their own performances were playing a part in the club looking messy. Once they realised there was no quick miracle cure, even with the changes made by the club (including the coach) they wanted out. And here is where it all went to hell for Woods, he felt he needed to justify his actions to leave the club and still remain the good guy, but instead made a mess of the whole thing and ironically has made himself very unpopular.
**I also think his move to the dogs was motivated by his need to be near his good mates, again, ironically he doesn't look too happy to me.**

I'm no longer a fan of Woods, but i do feel sorry for him, his own psychology has played a huge part in his decisions and comments, and i don't think he's smart enough to see through all the rubbish and see the bigger picture.
oh well, just another chapter in being a supporter.
How's this for a theory?????
His manager tried to hold the club to ransom by negotiating deals to have all 4 of his players off contract at the same time. Said manager tells the club, "I'll give you all 4 players on a platter if you sign a certain coach I am representing." Manager thinks that he will get a cut out of inflated contracts for all 4 players PLUS a certain coach he is representing. Thinking his coach is a shoe in as he believes Ivan Cleary wouldnt have a bar of this place, our friend the manager is greedly rubbing his hands and calculating his cut.
Alas! Ivan Cleary arrives and immediately pulls a contract to concentrate on two other players. Just to be spiteful, our friend the manager talks his players into leaving the club to show the club that he is smarter than everyone else. Manager uses Jedi mind tricks on poor old thick Woodsy and has him believe that he will be better at another club. Poor old thick Woodsy didnt stand a chance. He had no choice but to leave and was left to his own devices to explain why. I dont think Woodsy even knows what his motivation is for leaving. All he knows is that our friend the manager told him to and thick Woodsy haplessly agreed.
yep, i like your theory, makes plenty of sense and follows the course of events.
I'm not into conspiracy theories but it makes sense!
