Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs 2018 - Sharks 2018 [Official]..

IC seems to recruit as much on personality and off field qualities as on-field skills. When prompted on Sunday, IC did wax slightly lyrical on Woodsy - so I think these is a good chance of him coming back.

Unlike others, I have no issue with him coming back. On field, he never seemed to shirk his role and tried his best until the final hooter. I just wonder if he is the right balance for us or is he “more of the same”?

I’d like to see a Marty Tapau or RCG type of player. Someone who adds the aggression (and fear) whe they come on.

I find it interesting how fans think its perfectly acceptable to abuse a player consistently for whatever takes their fancy, accuse him of.wrong doing largely based on rumour and innuendo, openly criticize their personal appearance and character, and then at the same time feel like an aploogy is in order from that there player even though he fulfilled his contract and did so for most better than many.
And then are assumimg he is desperate to come back. Quite bizarre.

100% agree. So many personal attacks.

People comparing how they have stuck with the club as fans and trying to say that is the equivalent of Woods situation at the Tiges! Seriously!

Being employed by an organisation that constantly embarrassed itself, demonstrated no loyalty to contracts, failed injures mates, promised the future all the time never delivered, struggled financially, boardroom fighting, own players dogging the team, good players being let go and crap ones retained, selections that make no sense for years.

He had his whole life pinned to that wagon! We just watch it on TV. Half the people on here don’t even pay membership.

Wake up, Woods was a goose after years of neglect. We had it coming as evidenced by numerous players all getting jack of us.

Things are different now. I truly believe that.

Bring Woods home. He bleeds WestsTigers

Luke Brooks family knows the feeling..and he stuck solid..

Brooks situation is different. He owed the club far more than Woods.

Woods had delivered. Woods has given more than he got.

Brooks had played one good game.

But there were a lot of people who didn't do any attacks on his family and wouldn't steep that low. His/Teddy's and moses behaviour was unacceptable. Woods made it worse because he was the captain who ran the club down.

I also don't think we need him regardless. He will cost too much for a forward we don't need and still stifles our attack with those stupid run backwards into the line runs.

We just need a aggressive front rower up to 300k and get a 2nd rower that's more pricier.

So his family should be abused in public on more than one occasion even spat at…mkay...

Any discussion of abusing one players family or another's is redundant. There is never an excuse for abusing any players family at any time. Any person who does that really needs some self reflection to examine their priorities. Passion for a football team is one thing but to take it beyond that, even to abuse the players themselves, you seriously need to get a life!

I don't think he's the right fit to be honest. We need a quick strong intimidating second rower, a big upgrade on Rochow or MCK. We do need to replace Grant if he goes, but don't need a massive signing in the props.

Woods for mine, even if accepting of a lower amount ($400k or so), is too slow in the play the ball, makes the metres but can be lazy in defence. If he could play the ball quicker, we could make good use of his offloads. I still worry about his defence though.

Anyway, I have faith in Cleary, and if he wants to bring Woods back, I trust his knowledge over my uninformed opinion.

Woods is a dog through and through !

He needs to man up , get some Doggies underwear and serve his sentence at Belmore .

As to coming back …
"Surplus to requirement" comes to mind !

I've been critical of Woods but yes I would take him back.

I think Cleary can bring the best out of him and turn him into a team player at lock.

8\. Russell Packer
10\. Ben Matulino
13\. Aaron Woods

I wouldn't be forking out more than 500k though. Dogs can pay the rest or he can take a pay cut.

Props stopped wearing the number 13 in the early 90's

Abusing family members is unforgivable in any circumstance. Even abusing your own players is a no go for mine.

The people that abuse players family members are probably the same people that threaten to support a different team if Woods came back. Even though its a small group of people its still embarrassing.

Ivan was clear about Woods having a good attitude for the team after he signed. If Ivan thinks if will strengthen our team I would take him back, the only thing I would like to see is a different manager for Woods but I am sure they have contracts to make it hard to drop a player manager.

If Cleary wants him, than that is good enough for me. IMO Cleary would knock back the best player in the comp if he thought there was a culture problem or the signing would effect the balance of the playing group.

Personally I think cash could be spent better elsewhere, but I think Cleary may be a slightly better judge than me

I would hope that Cleary is a better judge than all of us as he has the future of our roster/club in his hands. So far he has been as good as we could possibly hope for.

Too bloody right.
It’s a game one that we all love, as soon as it gets to the point you feel the urge to abuse somebody over it, that’s the moment you take a step back and have a look at what it is your really reacting too.

Don’t want him. In attack he can make metres and offload, but his play the ball is slow and defence terrible.
I have seen him run past or swatted off plenty of times. He is not worth 500k
