AD at 5/8.

He is a big body, not overly fast and not overly quick on his feet.
He will need a kicking game, as I don't think Brookes has a particularly good one.
I can't really see another position for him though.

I thought that was a given, unless someone else comes along and excels?

It’s definitely his best position imo. His best game of the year was when he shifted there in the last round when Marshall went off with a HIA.

He’s got the benji bomb, up his sleeve . Brooks general play kicking is fine . He has to learn how to sneak the grubber between defenders . Teams now stick the leg out as a tactic , which is a big reason for him going backwards. Also , as last night should have proven to everyone , when your not poking your nose through, and bending the line , it’s extremely hard to tactically do anything other than the midfield bomb, to try and shift momentum.

certainly has the skillset, and if he fills out he could be in the Wighton mould. with the amount of centres we have I doubt he lines up there, and I just don't think he's explosive enough to play at the back.

Reynolds is a shadow of his former self, I doubt Madden starts the season in firsts and Walters is coming off an ACL. think he'll be there in round 1

Yeah Douehis best position, where we bought him for and think he has the skill set in attack, kicking and defence. Those long passes will set up a lot of tries

I agree, that if he can replicate Wighton's game, he could be what we are looking for.

If he can poke his nose through the line and offload, he could be explosive in the position.

He is the answer there...and he has the alpha male personality we need there with Brooksy.

I hope not. I hope we just pick the best players in their position based on performance, not what their salaries are.

Im not disagreeing with you but think there may be some pressure to make better use of the higher paid players.

Personally I will say I still need to see AD spend more time at 5/8th, he looked great against the Eels but lots of players have looked great for 1 game. I would like to see him train there all offseason and then see how consistent he can be during the trials.
