ADAM BLAIR’S WORK RATE IMPRESSES COACH TIM SHEENS

Most of Blairs quality work doesn't come up in stats, this weekend focus on who puts pressure on the opposition kicker, its always Blair. Also when the opposition makes a break or gets a quick play the ball and makes good metres you will notice Blair always sprints back to get in position, he rarely walks on the feild like some of the bigger players do. And he also gets the quickest play the balls out of all our forwards

I agree totally!

Can some please explain the difference between what Blair was asked to do at the Storm and what he's asked to do this year?

Why does it take Blair a long time to adapt yet Matt Bell can fit right in?

Spin article.
Hes now only just starting to do what he shouldve been doing 12 weeks ago…yet its still not enough

In My Opinion. Personally I'm liking the way Blair is coming along. He hasn't had an immediate impact, but as long as he keeps improving, then it will only help the team in the long run.

Not to be critical of Bell who has been fantastic and IMO has replaced what Gibbs used to give us his job is very simple in terms of his attacking role in the team, he plays up the middle as a prop (even if hes playing lock) while Blair does a lot more work with Benji on the edges, Its not like Ellis was making breaks etc from day 1.

Also the main factor is people expect big plays from big money players, but he is not really that sort of player, i think the club bought him knowing what they would get and us fans thought we were going to get something different

People forget that Ellis' real attack came in his second year, I think it took him 20 or so rounds in his first year here to score a try. His line running off benji and lui only came in his second year. Everyone was disappointed with Blair at the start of the year but he's starting to improve every week. Watch for a big game this week and especially next week vs storm

I'm sure Tim accidentally forgot to include him impressive high missed tackle count as well.

I wonder what Tim thinks of Bell's or Fulton's stats compared to Blairs.

I don't get his high work rate. Yes he has been playing better recently and I would love to see him turn into a weapon for us however I think Bell, Fulton and Hieghno all probably have better stats than Blair.

Well Dermo, just watch Blair run back into position, you will notice he runs into position with his back tp the play. Most 1st graders run backwards into position so they can actually see what's going on. Also I recall seeing Fulton's name in the stats for top kick chasers, Blair has only been doing consistently for 2 or 3 weeks.

It's not the point though, it's just about Tim putting a spin on his high priced recruit & tiring to justify it. Otherwise I just don't care as long as they play well.

It's not just Sheens - others people have said Blair has been improving. 95m and 28 tackles last week. Sure not jaw dropping but hardly lazy.

To be fair, Ellis came from a totally different competition which in terms of quality is far behind the NRL. Ellis taking that long to get to the level he reached was expected. Blair, on the other hand, has had experience playing with Benji before and has played in the NRL for a long time. He should be up to NRL pace and standard. I was expecting Blair to take 5-6 weeks before he started hitting his strides. Up until 2 weeks ago he has been nothing but a passenger. I have to admit, I have been rather disappointed in his performances but the last few weeks still give me hope that we made the right decision.
