Adam Doueihi #227

Really, really want AD to work at centre for us.

Today was great, minus what some have already pointed out in D - but that can be fixed.

I love his attitude, and he's a big body who's awkward to tackle. His bombs are a nice extra weapon for us too.

Looks like he has gained a bit of pace.
The irony of it all.

Threatened the Raiders line anytime he had the ball and looks like he has a dangerous combination developing with Galvin.

Definitely has a lot of work to do in defense but this was his first game back and we were short on that side from yet another Seyfart sin bin. Not to mention there were no tries down that side when we had the full 13.

I think the other piece today was he played on the left. He has always played on the right be it at 5/8 or centre this was the first time on the left and with 1 days notice snd 18 months out
That’s a good point.
I think Olam has only ever played on the left also.
Which one moves to the right ?
Could Olam on the left wing work in attack and they swap with Olam defending in the centres and Doueihi defending on the wing ?

There’s one of our centres for this year and next. He has never been slow despite what is said on here but I’m surprised his speed is back so quickly.

Had we not re-signed him last week the vultures would have been circling this week.

Never doubted AD….. a lot of people writing him off after his injury which I get but if you’ve followed his career you’d know he works hard with a never quit mentality and I’ve heard a lot of chat from people close to him about how good his professionalism off the field is hence why there was a period he was considered a captain candidate.

AD looking as good as he did in his first game back after 3 ACL injuries isn’t luck, his perseverance off the field deserves all the credit.

When he ran the field and outran Weakes to score under the posts to a roaring Campbelltown to then walk off the field to a standing ovation from the fans gave me legitimate goosebumps especially for myself who has endured an ACL injury before let alone 3.

I think his 5/8 days are over and if he can play like this tonight and contribute to winning I’m sure if the $ was a respectable figure he’d be happy with that.

So happy and proud for him, shut the doubters up AD and don’t stop believing yourself. Keep it up!

He can also kick goals relatively well…. as a centre he’s the full package.

No reason to get too fancy. Olam on the left, Doueihi on the right.

I’ve done it 3 times & I tell you what for him to be running at full tilt with confidence like that after 75 minutes just shows the mental toughness & resilience this guy has. Hope he stops with all this “i’m a half” talk because he has the potential to be one of the best centres in the comp rather than a average half & also play a much lengthier career in first grade.

As some one else mentioned;
AD seemed to really allow Galvin to play his game, he was there when he needed him to be also.

AD looked involved and confident, he even got to utilise some of his ball playing. Looked a more than capable centre and can & will contribute a lot to this team, from that position.

A luxury to have a centre with those skills in your team.

100% plus an extra kicking option and a great bomb

And how good was Bula finally having another attraction in the backline. Fainu too. That left side has a lot of points in it.
