As for defence. People don't realise defence and attack is actually quite related. If you're attack is struggling, you will struggle with your defence mentally as well and vice versa. An example of that is our 2011 form. We were one of the better defensive teams that season because we scored a lot of early points.

His 1st game back in the 6 he was straightening the attack, turning his hips inwards and creating space for the players outside him. That is the best he has played. Last week he was still trying to feed the ball to the players outside him but he wasn't straightening the attack 1st. That reall was the difference between the 2 games.

I didn't watch the Warriors game... but although AD got panned here, he did get points in commentator 3-2-1 and from a losing team.

Personally think he needs to spend next season in the 6, and ultimately might be the #13 we need in future as he'll only get bigger?

I have no doubt that Doueihi can become a good defender. Luke Brooks used to be a turnstile, now he's one of the best defending halves in the comp.

AD is a good player, IMO he is 100% NOT a footballer. Good skillful athlete, not a footballer.

The reason I think this is the first time he was dropped from no6, it was (IMO) because his outside backs simply were not getting the ball. Since he has gone back to 6 he is feeding them a LOT more ball, but this is the problem. He does one or the other like an automaton. He doesnt/cant play what is in front of him.

Midway through the first half there was a moment about 20m out and there was a MASSIVE gap outside him. Lucy saw it and was screaming off him into the wide gap. Outside this gap the defence was man on man. AD cut out LL and gave it to TT who was pinned and gave it to Nofo who was jammed against the sideline and it came to nothing. If he gave it to LL he scores untouched and we win the game.

AD is one of our best players but he has MASSIVE (IMO) shortcomings as a 6. I really dont know his best position and he reminds me a LOT of Michael Withers for the old Balmain heads here.

He's literally not even played a full season of NRL in the halves. He has more try assists than Brooks and has played excellent attacking football in the 6. Any idea that we should give up on him or move him elsewhere is ridiculous, let him develop and grow his game.

Even opposition fans know he's a good player, he's one of the few tigers players who gets credit for being good. He's one to build around for the future and he will do nothing but improve playing in the halves. He'd do even better with a halfback who can control and organise a game so Doueihi doesn't have to try and create ALL our points

Will get better over time though.
Has a high ceiling, unlike Brooks, Mbye types.

Premeditated.....run/pass/block play. Ive seen a few here mention AD as a "large body" running 6 a la Daley/Fittler, but this (besides the fact AD is still a kid and still learning) is the basic difference between a Douiehi/Withers and those guys.
