Adam Doueihi #227

I heard Adel say that, now his words mean nothing to me. To suggest we get rid of a bloke who has been out heart and soul is insanity to me.

AD also didn't throw them under the bus, he spoke the truth that if maka caught that ball right it's a try.. that had the ability to change the momentum of the game

But yeah, there's a reason Adel coaches in Qld cup and not the NRL
Most intelligent post I’ve ever seen from you @mtd#2

What a genius idea, get rid of AD and watch us flourish.
News Flash we would not have scored one single try over the past 3 games if not for AD.
There is every chance we would have scored more points as the ball would be distributed instead of tucked under a wing as well. It is all about perspective.

The problem for us isn't AD as an individual, he has plenty of strenghts, but AD as a half. The first few games he was good, and several here had him way up on a pedestal, without looking at the second and third order effects of having a player like him in the 7. It did not take long for the rest of the NRL to figure out how to limit him in attack, and by doing so shut down an entire edge. His passing game is bog average, and the Sukkar pass was an anomaly if you look at his historical efforts.

To combat this AD has, and this is opinion, tried to overcome it by doing more himself - futrther limiting our overall attack. And on top of this he has introduced these very poor chip kicks for himself that turn the ball over to the opposition in brilliant field position.

He has a place in the team, but 7 is not it, and given his defence has reverted back to the norm - he is either too injured to be playing FG or his confidence is so far shot he should be regaining it in cup.

Does any other 7 in the competition shut down an edge in attack so much? Does any other 7 in the game kick for themselves more than once in a game? Does any other 7 dominate the halves pairing so much? I could go on.

Good guy, low footy IQ.

He created space beautifully for Luai to put Makasini into the home against the Warriors.
A bit different to what you are talking about but he put Sukkar into a nice space to score his try a few weeks ago.
I don’t think any halve we have had has found a watch combine well with Bula and that is a far bigger problem than Doueihi at 7.
Bula has his strengths such as his height, speed and he always does his best, so I think he would make a good speedy winger with an aerial threat providing you had a few other outside backs that could carry the load with the yardage carries that he is not very good at due to his slight build.
But as a fullback he just has no instinct and deception to make him easy to combine with.
IF we could guarantee we could have tackle busting second rowers and centres for him to feed off each week he could get away with his lack of instant deception, but we only have 3 who have all had injury plagued seasons and there is no guarantee they will avoid any injuries moving forward.
When you think about it, Galvin probably combined with Bula better than any other halves have had, which is interesting when you think about it.
The player I saw unlock Bula was Kai Pearce Paul. His offloading game was a game changer. I haven't seen us offloading at all lately.

AD is not a Centre or Half more of a hybrid Lock or Utility, But see what Benji does moving forward.

100%. I liked his commentary before then. I really don't get that one, unless he knows something we don't.

AD should have taken some responsibility for his own crap game before shifting blame to others

He's not a half.

Not a fullback.

Not a centre.

But he's a game changing runner of the ball, with a decent kicking game.

Could be a lock, but have my doubts defensively and work rate wise in general.

Ideal 14 but we need him in the 13 somewhere IMO. Just really hard to figure out where that is.
