OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

We will be in a better place next year, once Luai is gone.

Jock is a genuine 7 and should be able to lock that position down.

As @Tucker said our best pairing would be him at 7 and AD at 6, however, id love to see Latu at 6 and AD at 13. That's a serious attacking spine.

You and others know that I have long criticised his throttling of the team when in the halves, and conversely, praised his new found defence at left centre and effort since last year's trial, whilst still thinking he was more a modern 13.

That said, can he really have a place at WT following his refusal to play there a few weeks ago, and particularly so after the side lifted without him today?

The thing with AD though is he has the skills and talent, more then any of our other halves

If he can learn to play more of a 'team' role then he could become very good.

You can learn that but you can't learn talent

We need a six or a seven that has a kicking game. Maden is about 20m short of a decent kicking game and lacks the variation in the type of kicks he uses. Although it is nice to have a seven that feeds his outside backs rather than crabs across the paddock. Great win today, but our team still needs plenty of reinforcements for next year to be competitive over the full season

There is no chance in hell Adam Doueihi has more skills and talent than our other halves. His skillset if terrible. He cant pass he cant ball play at all. He is great when he puts his head down and just runs. He can only play in a position where his focus is to just run. Thats centre or backrow, and hes too soft for backrow. Lock and halves are out of the question IMO

Fair enough, I get what you mean but this is just one of those differences of opinion, I've seen him throw quite a number of good balls. Consistency is needed of course.

Agreed, though I thought his kicking was no less effective than the repetetive longer bombs of the previous several games, with the stab kick for himself with Herbert to nail them deep in the corner as perfect for that period of the match. Halting their momentum and the kick of the match.

I guess with any kicking game it is as good as the kick chase. Yes I agree the old kick and pray tactics we have been using for the bulk of the season has failed big time. I just think with a quality kicking game with a good chase you can strangle a team out of the contest by continuing to win field position.

AD has a big boot, but he doesn’t seem to have a plan to kick for corners rather he just kicks and hopes
