I remember 5-10 rounds into last season when many were calling for Blair's head and a few were prepared to give him time to settle into a new environment, new structure etc. I was part of the latter group and thought our recruitment department couldn't be that ignorant enough to hand 550k a season to a bloke whose workrate/impact was/is as minimal as Blair's and that surely things would improve from there on in.
Well, 12 months on it appears to be another case of Bellamy and the institution that is the Melbourne Storm, making an average player look like a world beater, nothing's improved and there's a case to say he's gotten worse.
Go look at his and L.Lewis' stats last night, absolute chalk and cheese from two players whom were once considered of "equal ability". If he's not going to get fired up for a match up like that, what will get him fired up? A game against the Storm? I feel greatly for other Tigers fans, most of whom would earn far under half of what this bloke earns and whose output would be 2/3 times as great, its highway robbery.
