I chose the 1-year deal. Reynolds would instantly upgrade our team with his experience and goal-kicking. He would also provide great mentoring for Latu and probably many more players. I wouldn't go for two as Fainu's contract runs to 2027 so I'd rather keep a starting spot for him for 2027 so that he doesn't go looking elsewhere. The only issue is would he take a 1-year deal or does he want longer security? He would be 36 at end of 2026 season.

Im all in on Latu Fainu.
I am too if his hammy would be OK. He still needs time. Do we want 2 x 19 yr olds as our half options next year? (latu, mason), or do we try to push to finals.

Latu has injury concerns and heath still needs to learn how to tackle. It's just so risky if his hammy still has issues.

Reynolds for me if it doesn't disrupt latu.

I don’t want these 19 year olds if they don’t see the value in the club having senior players around to mentor them into First Grade. They haven’t earned the right to dictate terms.
Yah all good in theory - and I agree - but sadly, not the way these days. The big clubs come knocking.

Personally don't think we need Reynolds. That'll likely lose one or more of Latu, TDS (if he isn't lost already) and Heath.

A no for me.
Couldn’t understand why we didn’t chase him in 21 when the bunnies were asleep at the wheel? That window has closed imo.
At 35 he would be a great inclusion at the bunnies while transitioning to the coaching staff, but thought he has no intention of moving the family out of QLD?
Cobbo reckons Reyno did most of the coaching at Broncos during Walters’ time. Often wonder why clubs don’t put more focus on halves coaching if the team’s attack revolves around them?

How's he as a leader?

He's a good halfback, but never seen anyone say that he's a good trainer, leads with example etc.

I think he may help us win a game or two, but overall, I don't see this signing helping Luai or Latu either. We already have Benji and John Morris who can coach halves.

I don't see him setting new standards at training, or like a social butterfly to galvanise the team etc.

In terms of him doing most of the coaching at the Broncos, I'd say that he may have helped with the tactical parts of coaching?

It seems that we'd lose other younger players over this signing, which to me isn't worth it.

It's a short sighted signing IMO. I can't see him contributing where we are short.

The other thing to consider is his motive as well.

Obviously when he's interviewed he's going to say, I want to help the team, be a good leader etc. but hope they can go deeper into it and see if he's just trying to come for a retirement cheque.

Look it may well be a Richo smokescreen too as @jrtiger alluded to. Richo has said all along he doesn't discuss potential recruits in the media so straight away brings a red flag.

Could be a strategy to get the Broncos to sort out a contract and pay a bit more $$$ for Reynolds (given Richo's son manages Reynolds outside of football) or we've got our eyes on another Bronco who they may not be able to retain with their salary cap squeeze.

Tend to agree also that there could be a player pissed with madge that Richo knows about that can slot into our team in a needed position.

Putting in an offer to jack up his price so they will have to release a player to keep him.

It would be a No from me,
We brought Luai here as our main half on big dollars.
I have been saying for a year that I hadn’t seen what all the hype was on L.Fainu but after his performance last week I’ve now seen and changed my opinion of him.
Looked very classy with plenty of time so hopefully he stays fit and that is our halves pairing for years to come.

I agree hes not really a leader....we need another leader in the forwards, an alpha big dog to take our guys forward and inspire them.

I said earlier im ok with 1 or 2 for reynolds but not at the expense of a good forward signing or preferably two
