No different from any other "announcement" over the last few weeks. It's official when the Storm announce it, not the SMH.

First question - modest contract suggests Bellamy doesn't see that much in him. Don't forget we had only signed him at the end of last year so obviously we saw potential in him too. Would he have played for the Storm this year - I doubt it.

Second question - because of the experience of the inside back and that he was a goal kicking option. Im not sure I would have made the same selection but I can understand the reasoning and that inside back has been one of our better players over the past 5 games. Perhaps also because JT felt it was better for JAC's development that he spend some time in ISP before throwing him to the lions in first grade. That would be consistent with the fact we had just signed him rather than some irrational view that we didnt rate him.

I suspect if Justin Hunt hadn't been injured from the start of the year a different decision may have been made. My understanding was that Hunt was first in line for the vacant wing spot.

Tigerman80 the strong mail is that he had signed but that he is now trying to get out of the deal. Others have observed that this appears consistent with the fact that neither the Storm nor the Tigers have announced the signing.
 
It's interesting all the conjecture of JAC getting frustrated with his lack of selection due to Rankin being in front of him. To my mind, that may have been partly true but when Moses got the Goalkicking wobbles, common sense indicates that he probably saw the reason.

I reckon the kicker may have been when Milone was selected in front of him. He may have thought then that he was never a chance of playing top grade while at Wests (please note that this is pure speculation on my behalf).
 
Hunt at best is a fill in but is a NSW Cup player (just not our club but a few clubs). Rankin is not an NRL winger. Why are these names continually thrown about as first grade wing options when its apparent to everyone (except our coaching staff) that they are not? We finally get someone who is a wing option (actually centre is a better position for JAC) and potentially he walks!

Probably because the coaches have seen young players' careers ruined, particularly wingers, by being thrown into first grade too soon and wanted to ensure the young kid was ready.
 
If he now really doesn't want to go south, I can't imagine why a professional outfit like the Storm would want to try and hang onto him contract or no. He is still after all, a rookie winger, albeit promising, with only a handful of first grade appearances. Plenty more fish in the ocean.
 
if true , how the hell does this club move forward when we let players who dont cost much walk, and we dont have anyone better. u would think the club would have learned after the storm pinched koro but no we just keep on letting them go. getting to the stage were i dont care about football as much any more sick of supporting a team that seems allways going backwards ( have been a fan for 47 years) we just seem to be a joke side.

how do you know how much theyve offered him??

word is its a very substantial amount that personally id be uncomfortable trying to one-up.

seems like its 300-350k for a winger with not even double digit NRL games

why didnt we lock up JT in 2004???

bloody management, cant get anything right.

no one on the forum was calling us to sign JAC for 300 thousand + before he'd played an NRL game, dont see why the tigers would do that
 
My take is that JAC has more than likely signed with Melbourne. There are too many announcements in the papers for it not to be true.

I think the club just got outsmarted by Melbourne. Melbourne saw a quality player as they did with Koro and jumped on it. We took too long to do anything.

Hopefully the club is doing everything possible to retain him here though and maybe we will be able to keep him.
 
If he's been offered $300-350k or anything like it, he'd be mad to knock it back because no way you can pay that kind of coin to a 20 something rookie winger however good he may ultimately prove to be

Thats how I see it. If true, I doubt that the Storm would force a young bloke to move away from his family when he doesn't want to. Clubs are very conscious of this type of thing. Same reason why we did force Jordan Kahu to honour his contract with us straight out of Keebra Park.
